Downtown Science was way ahead of its time and hip hop still isn't there. I used to DJ the dub version and my audience was like...WTF? but they felt it because i had some ambient club backing it. Love the sample from Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. I grew up on that joint as well. The closest I can imagine that flavor was Ice Cube's It Was A Good Day.
I heard dj Red Alert play this joint once years ago and never heard it again. So many years and i finally found it. Right now im in a time warp just nodding my head. This right here is pure fire!
Got them almost when they came out, still have the cassette and going to xfer it! Saw them live with 3rd Bass in 1992 - Pittsburgh,Pa. A lot of heads didn't know these cats, Def Jam could have promoted them a little more heavy probably should have been on Columbia instead.
Oh well, thx for knowing more than me but I think u should get the point that they were better than what was pushed by the companies. Also if they were on Columbia's LABEL / not Def Jam they might have got more light because Columbia still wasn't packed with artist yet.
this song was the ish, man! the song by this kid Drake that also uses the Hamilton, Joe Frank, & Reynolds sample has NOTHING on this! nuf respect to Bosco Money! i know your name is now Ken Omega, but i just love the old school feel of the name "Bosco Money"! peace!
Yeah, this cd was the SHIT. The whole cd was on youtube but whoever uploaded it account got suspended. Just in case yall didn't know,Bosco Money goes by Ken Omega now,1 of his producers is 1 of my friends on myspace(ZaHr...1)
Oh no, not the Sony Walkman! Man take me back to high school when I was listening to the walkman listening to hip hop all the time. All I wanted was " Room To Breath"! Memories.

You know that at the time this came out COLUMBIA RECORDS was distributing all DEF JAM Records. So it wouldent have made a difference.
