  • steven, you are so cool x)

  • America is a great nation, but this is what always happens when someone other than white commits a crime. Suspicion is placed on an entire group of people because of a few who slipped through the cracks into violence or iniquity.

  • i agree with you mschessy.

  • Steve, One of Cho's teachers was so disturbed by his writings, she requested he be checked out by a Mental Health professional. The request was never followed up on, and Cho was without help.........

  • I think that to learn from the Virginia Tech tragedy, we need to not forget about what happened when the next big news story comes along. We need to continue to support programs that bring mental health, law enforcement, schools together, like Project Compass, the Morgan County wraparound program. We need to continue to support funding for mental health services and educate the public to decrease the stigma associated with mental illness.

  • I'd sooner hang with the salt of the earth in Abbotsford than sightsee in West Vancouver.

Check out rural America, mschessy. It might give you a wake up call.

Urban life is so posh I cringe when I visit Vancouver.

Nobody in a privileged place in society can lay claim to compassion if they repeatedly criminalize public protest.

I can protest all i want on youtube, but it will fall on deaf ears.

But if i give gas money to one man i learn to respect, then so be it.

  • Thanks Steve, this is very intresting information you shared about what is going on within our society, media, and school systems .......

  • think of all school killers as victims and as martyrs (a form of hero).

their actions confirm to me that non-violence is more respectable than going out in a blaze of glory, unless of course, as a martyr.

yet most martyrs do not choose violence at all.

examples include Jesus, MLK, and Gandhi.

and usually, martyrs are killed by their own more radical but extremist members.

  • Beautiful well said. Most martyrs choose non-violent.

  • cho was a victim and a hero.

  • yes, seung was both victim -- of racism and ignorance -- and hero -- but only to himself
