i sang this in high school with 3 other dudes.. cmb, boyz2men,troop,guy, hi five..were all of our influences at the time.. great times!! thx for posting.. i had this on vhs so we could practice to it back in 90-91 but lost it and now here it ison youtube!! awesomeness!! great post!! thanks for sharing..
This is a really great acapella rendition. This reminds me of the times in the 60's singing with friends in a vacant garage (great acoustics) on weekends. I sure miss this kind of music and hope it never dies. I covered this song in the original style and it doesn't hold a candle to this version. DOO WOP FOREVER!!!
You dont hear groups like this anymore. True talents. Bryan is a phenomenal lead singer. Sam and Mark are great back up vocals and Kevin with a great low voice. A truly different era for music
I have to agree. Although I hate when people define some of the early 90's groups as "Boy bands"...Boyz II Men, CMB, Silk, Shai....they weren't boy bands to me. Their sound was different and they were more R&B based than the N'Sync, BSB, Five, etc wave that came afterwards. 98 Degrees (on their first album) started out more like the CMB, Shai, Boyz II Men groups...but I digress. I liked some of the boy band era groups so I'm not saying one was better than the other. Just different
They were more R & B based. But you know every time you see these groups shown on VH1, the narrator labels them as boy bands instead of R & B groups. And the ones you mentioned are definitely R & B groups. And 98 degrees were the urban style like the ones you mentioned but then changed when the pop explosion happened 1998-ish. I think the media labels them as boy bands because they sing and dance to programmed music instead of playing their own instruments.
Wow! This Acappella "Daddy's Home" Brings back alot of memories. OMG. First time I've heard this song was sung by: Just One Style. Yup! Just One Style. Art, JJ, JV, JonJon & Kit.

Man I love this right here. No auto tune, thumping beats or rappers on hooks just a bunch of talented singers going hard. Those were the days huh.

Most boy band lead singers were not as good as Bryan Abrams in my opinion. And I think the Backstreet Boys harmonized real well too.

Nice! I'd never seen this one! I STILL want the jacket Sam's wearing there -- been looking for it almost 17 years now.
