Fucking morons he hold his ear cause theres something in his ear(dunno how it is called) so he can hear his voice... Cause u need to fuckin listen to ur voice to fuckin sing... Thats why... u cant even listen to ur voice out there so this is the only solution for him not to scrue it up and sing out of tone... well this is not a reason to hold his ear...but it was maybe to run out or smth and maybe he pussed it in...!!

nah. its a technique singers use in order hear themselves sing. you block one of your ears to you can hear yourself inside your head.

He uses a lot of growling and yelling, and that can really fuck up your voice if you're not careful. he's just making sure he's singing in pitch.

In-ear monitoring. He's got a little knob in his ear which plays his "personal" mix of the band, mostly the musicians own voice/instrument a bit louder than on the mix the audience hears. in holding his ear he shades his left side from different noises to strike the right note.

actually if you pay attention to the video he is not wearing an in ear monitor. I believe what he is doing is just using his finger to block his ear, kinda like a makeshift ear plug. Some musicians can't wear ear plugs cuz it messes them up, but plugging one ear does make it easier to hear yourself singing especially if your doing a mellower vocal part over a lot of guitar and drum work.
