i felt the new one was too easy and ended quick, but it was very good never the less. i liked the graphics/story/music, plus it had all the old golden sun goodness except with a new look. i suggest you try it out its worth it.
Aw, so you haven't played Dark Dawn yet? I got to say I at least loved the final boss. Most of the game was pretty easy, but that boss was hard. >-< I really loved the final boss music though. It's really good, definitely one of my favorites. ^^
This theme plays around the beginning in the new game too. :)
I just noticed it's been 10 years since this was released. This music makes me feel as if I was back there in front of my Artic (white) GBA. Wow... time sure flies...
Still one of my favourite video games. This was the game that got me into JRPG's after years of rejection. Rips off Zelda, Final Fantasy et al so well, and ticks so many boxes, I'd go out on a limb and say that Golden Sun (not its confused sequels) was the most complete, if not extensive, RPG ever. This is a great song. Perfect tranquillity summed up Vale like nothing else. I'll always remember the first time this songs played, after the extended intro sequence. Great job SD, as always.
This game is fantastic. Great gameplay, great visuals, great puzzles and great music. At some point you should upload the Venus Lighthouse music. That was my favorite in the game.
Dark Dawn was a disappointment. It was undeniably Golden Sun, but there was something off about it. I also didn't like how they spent hours talking about the old characters (like Ivan and Mia), but they never actually showed up in the game!
Dark Dawn is quite average - the difficulty curve is off, the world closes off behind you, the beginning is a bizarre, cliched and un-engaging mess - and on top of all that, it's as talky is the first two games. Considering its legacy, Dark Dawn is a tragedy.
@jdng86 i liked it wasn't comparable in musics but better for battles system and unveiled more of the story. kind of like the path that series has taken.
Golden Sun. Oh man. I remember I took my cousin's copy of his game because I couldn't believe how good this game was. But he found it and took it away from me haha. But now I found it for really cheap and I am glad I own the game xD.
This game has infinite replay ability. And when you finish the first one, you know you just gotta go on to The Lost Age. And hell, while you're at it you might as well play Dark Dawn and not let the saga die.
The second I saw this in my subscribed list, I knew the nostalgia would hit me like a tonne of bricks.
From the number of times I have played this game, and it's first sequel, I don't need to actually play the games to relive the fantasy. The stories of Isaac and Felix are always churning around in my imagination, and no other game series to date has had such a lasting effect on me.
Truly, two of the greatest things to happen to the video gaming industry.
I really liked the Golden Sun games because they were some of the few games I enjoyed on the Gameboy Advanced, but I can't say they're anything but average as far as RPGs go.
This game defined my childhood. I love Sakuraba's music largely because of this game. The best song was probably Saturos' battle theme but the Vale town theme screams beginning village music. Great pick.
Playing this game was very memorable, I couldn't believe how nice it looked and sounded for a portable game, and an RPG too. Loved it. I also really liked Golden Sun 2, but at that point I already knew what to expect. I have yet to play the new one on the DS.
Loved this one. I've played the GBA ones and loved the story, game mechanics, and of course soundtrack. Like you I've not gotten around to the DS one yet.
@SupraDarky The DS one has really easy RPG elements but the puzzles are really fun. Make sure to get all the Djinn though... it has some cannot-go-back portions of the game.

Good choice.
This is the one song from Golden Sun that really stood out to me.
The synth during the bridge and especially the chord at 00:41 is pure ear candy.
