  • Judy = the art of interpretation. Brilliant!

  • Beautiful Judy. Touches everybody like no other.

She died about 9 months after this. ; (

  • wow.. moves me.... Judy.. miss you

  • Frances, simply the best...

  • BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you for posting this;

  • This is absolutely mystifying. It really is. Thank you to all of our amazing historians that capture these memories for us to linger and enjoy, savour and relish, for all time...with appreciation and gratitude.

  • God knows how much I love Judy, but i prefer this song in portuguese :(

  • She had got to be my favorite singer of all time. She is just glorious, her voice is eternal.

  • This is from a studio talk show broadcast. No enhancement and sounds good.

  • I LOVE YOU JUDY

  • Judy wasn't just a great singer. She was a goddess, miles over human judgment. Singing this classic by Jobim and Moraes Judy has set a new standard in music. I am lucky to have been on the same planet at the same time she has been. And not only she awarded us with song masterpeices but gave us Liza.

  • for the jerk that said she was loaded. She was sick inside one of her organs were shot. She got on that stage and sang as if nothing were wrong. That takes guts something that is in a Woman. She was dying and you say stuff you don't know then don't say it at all!!!!!!!!

  • wasn't she voted like the best performer of the century?

  • If she is on pills here she still sounds better than 99% of today's singers. It is a shame she looked so old for 46 here but blame MGM.

    She still sounds great here.

  • I stood for 2 hours at the Frank Campbell Funeral Home just to say goodbye to my favorite star when Judy passed away. When I finally got in, I looked at her. It was as if she knew we were there, and wanted to get up and sing for us. If she only could!

  • @bennettsilverstein omg i bet that was really upsetting, seeing our legend laying there , god bless u judy , u will always be in my heart xx

  • Judy was an amazing & a real Entertainer. Who else could keep people's attention when there voice isn't at its best? Judy knew how to entertain, if her voice gave out she still rocked the house. People post comments about her being "loaded", how does anyone know if she was? They rehash old myths & attack a dead woman. Her talent was Great & yet when we hear her name, it's linked w/scandal instead of excellence. Why soil Judy Garland's reputation? All she ever wanted was to sing for all of us

  • @NFitalianGuy u are so right, i llove u judy, forever xx

  • Great song, Great Judy! She is still missed.

  • Gorgeous & exotic "How Insensitive" show Judy Garland still magnificent even when she no longer had industry support...long gone, Judy did things on her own by this point in her life still showing heart & soul with artistic brilliance...Bravo Judy, and you are loved and missed!!! Bless those who did give her support and for shame to those who should have but didn't...

  • What a beautiful song. Judy has touched my heart :)

  • she was so loaded....but, she carried on. what a beautiful woman, great singer, too soon gone. love you judy.

  • So well said! Thanks.

  • It really pees me off when comments are made about Judy's looks in her later life. So easy for these people, who are hidden behind their usernames, to so 'expertly' espouse on others. Judy is not here to defend herself. She was only too painfully fully aware that she was unwell towards the end of her life; and yet she left such wonderful treasures in clips like this one. We all should feel it a privilege to watch these and admire Judy's exquisiteness.

  • lovely

  • this is only 10 months before she died she died june 69 with all the crap she put up with she was amazing that voice was incomparable

  • это самое лучшее исполнение!

    спасибо, Джуди!

  • ... and how sensitive she was to be able to do in such a careful way with such ease and without missing a note. Just beautiful and awesome.

  • It has been written that Judy was the "queen of rubato" - the ability to draw her breath across her vocal cords like a bow across the strings of a cello. In this video, a few months before her passing, Judy demonstrates how this skill remained. Perfectly in tune, she breathes music, caressing the notes and infusing each beat of music with meaning. Peerless, Judy's unique ability to move excite and touch our hearts is one of the wonders of our age.

  • @44feathers Beautifully put

  • @44feathers You describe the way she sang, beautifully. Few people really understand her technique, as it seemed so effortless; her voice, at it's peak, as she demonstrates here, was an instrument; and in some cases, the only one needed. Her artistry, was never lacking; it was of the highest caliber; this is why, even her detractors, still listen.

  • @monroenorma

Thanks for your thoughtful feedback...Roger Edens said of Judy that she was "all diaphragm", meaning that her breathing technique was solid as any trained singer. Though Judy wasn't a classical singer, her breathing method ensured that she could sing with tone and purity at both the bottom and top of her range with either softness or her trademark "belt". She supported her loudness with a ver well toned diaphragm, and did so to the end of her career and on the 2nd verse here.

  • like i said TALENT,the marvoulus Judy

  • It didn't seem to matter what she sang...it all seemed to matter so much...and this is just great!

  • She gave me a heart-ache as if I were ending a love affair.

She really gets inside you, doesn't she?

    Damn.

  • She looks different in her face

  • This is a great song! Judy sounds wonderful!! Still love her!!!! Such a character. =)

  • I thought she looked great, sounded great--the interview is great--hard to believe this is just 10 mos. before her death. She must've gone downhill a lot in the last 6 mos or so before she left us. How sad, she was so talented, and we all wanted much more of her. She left us much too soon. We love you always Judy.

  • she was just great, no other words can be added, she just was born with this beautiful talent

  • Her voice still has the ability to make a song her own. This is the best rendition of this song I've heard,

  • Lovely! Thank You for generously posting this.

  • She looks fine!

  • she was so very ill here. her face is puffy and she looks drawn and exhausted. and yet she turns in an exceptionally beautiful and heartfelt rendition of this song. actually one of my favourite performances by judy garland.

  • So sad. This reminds us of what we have lost. But thank God we have this moment. Magnificent!

  • ma quanto aveva pippato!

  • no need to be snarky about her looks manhole.....she sings it wonderfully, full of feeling and sensitivity (Ironic, I know....)

  • @veronicaklaus here here!
