Okayy sooo i bought a fake gibson , and it rings a lot , and gets a lot of feed back when the volume isnt even turned up a quarter of the way .

and im planning to change the pickups to EMG's , hoping that will solve the problem . but im not fully sure if thats the case , is there anything else that could be causing the problem ? the knobs , or the type of wood possibly ? or is it just pickups that make feedback ?

if you bought a guitar that said gibson , looked and felt exactly like a gibson , for like 300 dollars . but it was getting major feedback .

would you buy a real gibson for a thousand dollars ? or buy 2 pickups for an extra 200 ? :P

Active pickups use a 9v Battery too, so the Guitars are usually pre-cut for Battery installation. If you try and put active pickups in a Guitar built for passive pickups then you can run into some "space" problems and there are a few other things to consider

You like to tune low eh?? ha ha... Ok, quick question.. I bought a Gibson SG. Feels good and nice action. But, I'm concerned about the pickups. Shit, the pickups on my Epiphone Les Paul are hotter than the SG. That sucks. Also, the real sucky thing. is that the Neck pickup is hotter than the bridge pickup... Can I just swap these out, or is the neck pickup gonna sound more bassy? Goining from the Paul to the SG, has quite a volume diff. Not good on stage to make those adjustments

@gerling1337 solder your new pickups where you old pickups came off or try and understand how it works. It's not that hard, i have changed the pickups in my strat lots of times, just changed the pups in my Les Paul aswell, just the same deal. Give it ago and if it doesn't work then figure out why or look at diagrams from official websites. Hope this helps, good luck \m/
