you should get a box tv for all ur classic consoles. i have a LCD for my ps3 but i have a box tv for my ps2/1 N64 snes megadrive master system and all that shit. HD tv's stretch the image and make it look heaps worse. even if you change the screen size. the tv is still hd and makes the classics all pixel-ated

Protip:

Hey, if you have that 1st demo disc with MK3 and Wipeout, Twisted Metal, and Warhawk, you can put it in a CD player and listen to MK3 music.

Also if you load a match on the bridge in MK3, pause, and put in Street Fighter Alpha 1, and pause, Ken's arranged theme will play.

Why do I know, and remember this? i dont know.

Ok, in this review you mentioned... probably 2 or 3 times that besides the sprite loadings and other stuffs the audio is superb cause its a CD quality... so, where was the "ROUND ONE" voice? the only thing you hear after the loading is "FIGHT" :)

For me, the best MK3 version for home console is MegaDrive x16 version.

the temple stage + music always scared the crap out of me, thats why i didnt like the bell tower (loved the stage fatality), coz i knew i would have to stand that stage later...on mkt i always chose the courtyard because of that, so i'd never see the temple

MKT. It has more characters and possibly more stages, plus Brutalities. It's the more updated form of MK3.

Personally I would go with MKT because al the characters (with bosses on playstation) and the other things like the super endurance ladder and the fact it has so many levels on it.

Yeah mean how come US cases are so big...they have the "tall" cases almost the same size as Sega Saturn, where as we had the CD sized cases.

Suppose it took em a while before they decided a perfect fitting case..my MK3 case was tall and some other game called extreme sports or something.. possibly ridge racer 1 but every other game was the same size as a CD case. like when PS2 games' cases used to be black, now theyre mainly blue

I noticed something nuts aswell. PS1 games = CD format, same size as a CD case

PS2 = DVD format, same size as a DVD case

PS3 = Blu-ray format, same size as a Blu-ray case!

whats interesting is that psx version is 1:1 to pc win version, with the exception that win version does not load that much (not dos one). they share same codes, game properties and etc. still an awesome port for its time if you exlude the loading times.

Thats like one of the madden games leaving out the new england patriots then making an ultimate madden game with new england in the game and a few new teams. it just doesnt make sense to me

That is why Midway created Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, to bring back most of the characters, then came out Mortal Kombat Trilogy, where they bring back characters from Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3 & UMK3. scorpion is in umk3 and mkt, I hate scorpion cuzz for combos I can only get 3 hits, as for sektor I can score either 5 or 6 hits but whatever I'm a huge mk fan like I have diff versions of mk1, mk2, mk3, umk3, I only have the mkt for ps1, I used to have mk4 but sold it now its just mkgold, deadly alliance gc, deception for psp, and last would be armaggadon collectors edition which is only for ps2 =)

I remember this being the first game released on the Playstation here in America and they marketed the SHIT out it. I also remember the MONSTROUS case that it came with Shao Kahn on the cover. I miss the HUGE PS cases. I still have my MK3 case and my HUGE Doom case.

Wow, that's interesting to see the cardboard box for MK3, you guys should have gotten the plastic long box version just like us here in the US. Thanks for showing it off as I've never seen that before.

Also, wow, you have the Playstation MKII!!! That must have set you back a "few" bucks :).  It's probably one of the rarest PS games as Mortal Kombat was never a big thing in Japan.
