@purplefrog21 r u pressuring w/ hellions? or at least pretending to? if u know they coming hard and fast w/ roaches 3-4 bunks w/ 2 rax reactor pump is good still get ur weap upgrade nice and early
@purplefrog21 doing any sort of early pressure is good. if your concern is a 7 roach set a bunk up outside their main ramp or simply turtle your main choke and delay your expand. get 1 tank and you wont need siege what will be important is rushing to fill ur one bunk getting 1 tank w/ the tech lab get blue flame hellions and get 4 -- if the roaches leave their base counter w/ ur helions. If the build is mass ling uve already got helions on field to deal w/ them. now just micro
@cptsteiner Also you you are only talking about one small part of the TvZ match up. Terran has a huge win percentage lead in this match up so stop winning or "keep you qq'ing internal :D. Oh btw you're a dick.
@CptSteiner You sir need to take into account that the terran had 1 very simple way to catch up in economy. That is the planetary fortress. This building removes the ability for zerg to counter attack with things such as lings and if you set one of these bad boys up at a gold then all of a sudden the zerg is in deep shit. Also the mule does make it much easier for the terran to stay competative and if you think about it a zerg need to be ahead in economy just to stay competative.
@julesjordan You are clearly a moron if you think that mules make TvZ an easy matchup. They are the only reason Terran can even make an attempt at keeping up in econ, much less some foolproof fall back plan. Do everyone a favor and keep your qq'ing internal.
@razvanciurez pretty much yes, but the result differs. For example 6 pooling in Steppes of War. Now try 6 pooling in Terminus Re. It can still happen, but the results will vary.
most people that say terran are OP probley haven't played much terran or suck ass. people obsess over how good mules are when really, i feel like i never have any scvs. this early 3rd CC strat looks cool ima try. diamond T.

@RMJ1984 lolwut, i played both races and is a stressful matchup in general, but SC2 is a stressful game in general, thats why it is cool ,fucking casuals dont play it for too long
@day9tv day9 cant u do something like friday zerg day or thursday terran day and wednesday protoss day because the last time u were talking about zerg is now 2 weeks ago. it really feels like u do less zerg replays then terran or protoss in general. if u have 3 days 1 for each race this wouldnt be a problem anymore. hope u will read this!
@theultimatenose Not exactly fair, as it was just the holidays. It has been known for a while that it would be terran week this week, so it would seem silly to expect zerg replays. On top of that, it is not as if an off-race replay has no value. The general rules till apply, as well as a glimpse at something you might have trouble with in the future as zerg. No need to tell Day[9] what to do; as we all know, he is the god of all starcraft knowledge.
Two things and one you mentioned. He knows Idra is a one trick pony. The second reinforces this: he is confident in his crisis management to take less damage then the opponent invests in dealing it. Especially against Idra, who not only doesn't do early pressure but who's bad at it when he tries. That makes Bomber's confidence in crisis management even more stand out.
@Sapreme Have you tried any form of surround with ling baneling?
Or how about double evo lings with a macro hatch into infestor?
Why not make the marines run away with banes and snipe the tanks with lings groupings or your mutas then retreating to reinforcing lings so you can take out marines easily with out their tanks mk?
A black guy walks into a bar with a parrot on his shoulder. The bartender says "Hey, that's really nice, where'd you get it?!?!" ... the parrot replies "Africa!" herpderp.
@v2Drake On acount of a league system, I would awnser no. You will always be playing an opponent who is just as good as you. (After your 5 placement matches). Gogo Gl Hf- Enjoy! :D
@TheMadFedje im guessing u never played Brood War online to much that was so much harder required huge apm SC2 is far more user friendly which is a very good thing for players like me :)
@TheMadFedje Try BW. No auto-casting/smart casting. Very limited rallying, queueing and grouping system. One-click-one-action. Wonky unit AI and pathfinding. SC2 players have it easy compared to their predecessors.
@gmdimaano main problem with sc2 that i have is that it looks like 2 blob balls of stuff are fighting each other ... in sc1 you can often have huge battles with spreading units across like half the map
@fateola Point taken. I remember WC2. Thing is, I don't know why players still accept Blizzard-Activision's lousy interface for their RTS games; claiming it as a "game mechanic" or part of the "core gameplay". It's just silly, imho when there have been advances in UI in other games. E.g. TA and Supcom.
Well, I think it's important to separate what makes life easier (e.g., being able to select more units) from what takes important inputs away from the player (e.g., army formations negating the need for micro). To my mind, the Blizzard interface is the best at striking that balance, and that's largely why it's been able to cultivate a pro scene.
@fateola I'm more of a fan of the former than the latter. Approachable and intuitive interfaces are a big plus for me. Notwithstanding its strategic depth, SC requires incredible skills (apm, micro) for its execution; making it more a skills game than a strategy game. Partly responsible for the very high skill threshold of SC is its interface.
@v2Drake well i dont know much of AoE II, but cc3 is just a build order game with no real mechanics ( was pretty fucking good at that game), i personally do not enjoy a game if im not good at it and sc2 is not something you just play for a week and youre good. ive had SC2 since release in like june 2010, i have like 800 1v1 matches played, but im still high masters level and i watch sc2 regularly so that helps alot, watching pro matches helps alot if you know abouts what theyre doing
@v2Drake teamliquid(dot)net is the main sc2 community site, stay away from blizzard forums theres only balance posts and people whining, the game is very well balanced and no race is OP atm... and you pretty much always lose only because of your mistakes, but you need to realize them in order to improve, watching day9 daily is a good way to improve in the low levels, i watch these for the entertainment value mainly
@v2Drake In my experiance its easy & fun to get into (if you don't mind losing in the process) but very very hard to master, theres people who barely play it & just enjoys it from time to time & people who play it 8-10 hours a day.
I can advice you to get it & just start playing :)
SC2 feels clean as compared to any other RTS and I would argue that it's easier to learn... but that there are people who have REALLY learned it well and that it's nigh-on impossible to learn it as well as them.
Luckily the match-making is pretty much the best of any game ever and tends to create close matches no matter your skill level. There are people on the ladder who have never played RTS games, so I'm sure you wouldn't be bracketed into the very bottom of it.
And a very ugly ENGINEERING BAY!
