  • they should not be in the same cage at that age. unless you want them to lose body parts. they grow back but its a stressful painful process. please separate them. they do look very beautiful though :)

  • You can buy normal axolotl at pets stores, the genetically modified ones not offcourse xD

  • bloodworms, earthworms, you can also give them raw meat though it shouldn't be it's basic diet. There are special axolotl pellets, but I have never been able to find those xD

  • green florescent protein - its a protein taken from a type of jellyfish and inputted into an axolotl. It genetically alters the animal and will/can show up in the animal's offspring. Check it out on wikipedia. also see my other video with these guys under a blacklight.

  • GFP means Green Fluorescent Protein, it s normally found in some jellyfish.

    And GFP is used to track some cells during embryogenesis, in transgenic animals.
