  • What a Bass line. Groovy!

  • @leadman22 I can't believe such a pathetic, attention-seeking rant is on a music video. It's a misleading statement you made and is just nonsense propaganda. Go and rant on a Nation of Islam video or a White Supremacist video not here on a video that is designed to bring people together. What a miserable person you must be.

  • @leadman22 You know, the truth is that lately "tax and spend" has been the Republican thing. Take from the poor and middle class and spend it on the rich.

  • I remember this tune. The singer is proper pengaling!

  • Classic x

  • brings back memories

College.. the old days.... beer..... they were great!

  • Takes me back to fishing on Sandown pier on the Isle of Wight with my dad and a little radio playing back in 1994.

    Good times.

We scattered his ashes off that same pier in 2008.

I'd give almost anything to have another days fishing with him.

  • one of the rare instances the cover is a lot better

  • As much as I like N'dea Davenport voice, I was expecting not to like this 'cause I like Maria Muldars versions so well. Good cover.

  • @leadman22 man, you're really old! lol :D

  • @leadman22 Or maybe just because you're old. LOL

  • i like this song very much american pie

  • These people could sing the alphabet and it would sound great

  • takes me back to the disco days.

  • @HichiroJappy You must be on drugs or like really boring music. Renee Olstead's version is majorly boring send you to sleep music!

  • They are for sure connected to the Mothership !!

  • @lexrelaxful i'm doubt free on that

  • Damn, this is smooth.

  • This is an absolutely awesome remake of the 1970's classic. It's also fun to play on guitar. Very hip and funky....

  • American Pie prom scene, hilarious

  • Great song, great memories!

  • This is INSANELY good!!! Hail The Brand New Heavies!!!

  • I actually love this version more than the old one.

  • @Striplights1980 cool thanks

  • LOVE IT! :))

  • You cannot find Cacti in deserts with camels. Maria Muldaur is an idiot. At least TBNH improved the song big-time.

  • super extremely great mo fo

  • Ok ok I usually don't like remakes.......but TBNHs did this (one of my absolute faves) justice!!!

  • Even my 10 year old daughter dances to this song. Seen it live in Amsterdam sung by Sieda Garrett. Super!!!!

  • When I hear them I feel young again

  • people probably won't know who i'm talking about but to me, this singer reminds me of Lady Kier from Deee-Lite, like in terms of the style of singing is similar, I could imagine Deee-Lite doing this song

  • @snowball1988 "Groove is in the heart!!!!!!" Ndeya Davenport does sound like Lady Kier.

  • Always loved this group. So unique. Her voice is amazing! :D

  • The Very Best Version of this Song!!! ... I love it - so Smooth to my soul like a Summer Breeze!

  • Hate to admit it, but I really like it, lol!

  • There are only 2 instances where I have seen people dancing on roller skates in music video, this one by Brand new Heavies and Wired for sound by Cliff Richard.

I don't even care if it's done by triick photography the fact that it's done realistically needs to be acknowledged and praised.

  • @rogerhoward555 Check out Anita Baker's "Same 'Ole Love" and Soul for Real's "Candy Rain."

  • yup this is my favourite version

  • I'm lovin' it! What a great song from 1994...

  • It's sooo cool. I love R&B as Acid Jazz... love the brand new heavies!

  • this version is alright but falls wayyy short of the original. the 74 version will live on forever. this version forces itself on you, while maria muldaurs 74 version soothes and relaxes you and takes you back to the 70s,

  • @regvision and of course no one can touch amos garretts guitar work on he original.

  • acid jazz at its best

  • Good tune, but come on lets face it...Maria muldaur version rinses them all, check it.thanks

  • Maria Maldaur has the sexier voice, but both versions are great.

  • Love this version...the sax solo is awesome like her.....she has beauty, vocals, can dance And skates! love the lyrics too, good post - zone girl

  • Not a bad re-make. Crisp, clean sound... Bravo!

  • MINT

  • like............way cool

  • Thank God N'dea is back home where she belongs...BNH were never the same without her!

  • *BLISS*

  • group from ealing in london featuring ameria siedah garrett

  • @sargemneil That's N'dea Davenport

  • @sargemneil

No -- N'dea Davenport sang with the Heavies from 1990-1995. This track was released in 1994. Garrett sang with them much later.

  • Makes me feel like rollerskating right now!

  • This is the best version of this song.

  • touring with n'dea!

still the best band in the world

  • @101airbourn ree, I like this one better than the original and that was my time.

  • I Love The Heavies, where are they now?

  • saw them a few weeks ago on UK TV show "Live from studio Five"....

They are still together.... and I think they were promoting a forthcoming LP...

  • i like the live version lol

  • superb uplifting...love it !

  • Jamiroquai-Plagiate! ))))

  • It's a re-interpretation of a song by Maria Muldaur from the 70s.

  • More like a szushing up for the 90s.

If I ran my own Jazz Cafe somewhere in London, This would be spinning nightly.

  • this band is the bomb man
