Without a doubt, Maria McKee has a beautiful voice and is a superb song writer, but when she sings this song it is obvious that she is simply singing the song (lyrics), whereas when patty sings, her style and her facial expressions leads you to really believe she is living or has lived the story of the song and that she is personally feeling the story and conveying a message.
