  • bar is commonly used in the US in the hip hop genre referring to 4 counts. its a pretty common term actually thats why you hear rappers say THATS BLAH BLAH BLAH 16 BARS BITCH

  • lol what is this bit about bars? We have bars in Europe too... they're different to pubs. Anyway, in terms of music, we don't call bars four counts, we call them bars too lol. I think it's a standard music term.

  • In the US, instead of calling 4 counts a bar, we call it a "measure". A "bar" is not a music term to my knowledge in the US.

  • oh right ok fair enough, I thought you were saying that in america they call it a bar and in Europe we don't, guess it's the other way round.

  • hehe... no problem :) Yeah, I was just trying to clear it up for us over in the US... ellaskins refers to "bars" a lot in beatmatching... a "bar" is a good name for it too, just not common here in the US :)

  • Great tutorial on setting the cue point. American Audio makes a pretty good deck with lots of bells and whistles of more expensive decks at a much easier to swallow price.

Look up the American Audio DJ Pro-1000 dual cd deck and that was released in 03 and that was just a great deck with some outstanding features for its time.

  • Yeah, those are nice looking decks. I wouldn't mind having one of those, or one of the Velocity dual decks, for an extra set of decks.
