I don't think we know 1% of what the US government does in terms of unethical biologically-related experiements. But all the stuff within that 1% is pretty horrific. They injected pregnant women with plutonium. We've done AIDS experimentation on unsuspecting people in Thailand and South Africa. Radioactive food was fed to retarded children in Boston. Do we honestly think there aren't experiments going on right now?

Why is anyone surprised. This was not necessarily the American Government, but the medical community. Most of the time the American Government is comprised of people that do sincerely care and are trying their best. However, it is the small powerful factions within the government that create these anti-human crimes. Most people within the gov't. are hard pressed to stand up to the J. Edgar Hoovers and his like. I must admit, I laughed at people when they said growth hormones were affecting unborn children. I call them paranoid.
