  • That was too big of a jump, from 365 to 405, 365 didnt come up that easy. You would have to be able to pump that for 5 or 6 reps to get 405.

  • @Stoksie01 you dont get it dude. what im saying is you should know you cant do 405 cause you cant do 350 for 4 reps. if you can do 350 for 4 reps then you should be able to do 405 for 1 rep. what im sayin is what you can do 4 times you can pretty safely add 15% to it for 1 rep.

  • that was a lame video. your using a suicide grip first of all. your thumbs should be around the bar so the bar cant roll. it is a matter of personal preference but not when you are trying to do an instructional type video that kids watch.

    second any real lifter knows around what his limitations are from years of training. i know i cant do 405 so i dont do it. i know this because i cant do 350 - 4 times. there is a ratio for the amount your limit compared to what you can rep.

  • i weigh less than you and I can do more than that But mine is not as impressive because I don't make a lot of noise and tell everyone what I can do and brag about it. But as far as days go my strength varies about 10% depending on the time of day. I am strongest between about 1 and 4pm and I am weaker late at night. I think it has to do with how awake I am.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad about your lift, thats impressive if you are really under 200lbs like some of the comments are saying you are... consider my comments to be merely constructive... and if I was rude in my first comment it was because I hate to see people do things not necessarily the wrong way, but not necessarily the right way either... and what I mean by the wrong way is... you going that hard after a 3 week lay off.. and using a hammerstrength machine with no carryover

  • Clearly you are young and not as experienced. Here is the deal: I have been pressing weight since before high school . ..before you were born so now sometimes I get tendonitis in one or both of my pecs. What I do is hit those "pussy machines" so I don't lose what I have gained. It hits the muscles from a different angle. Im all natural so I have to do what works for me and you know what I can still beat 9 out of 10 guys your age and mine. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'm young, but that doesn't mean I haven't experienced anything... I've been lifting weights for quite some time now, and powerlifting for 9 years now... I used to get tendonitis in my pecs, and it was from over using and abusing myself in the weight room, which is apparently what your doing if you max out after 3 weeks of no benching... also your form is conventional for an average lifter, but for optimal technique and utilization of all upper muscle groups you need to tuck your elbows
