  • Interesting!

  • It is ridiculous that people actually come on here to tell us we are going to hell! We know that we don't believe in the Devil and we know that Paganism makes us happy, so I say SCREW YOU all you bible pushers!

  • I think you will find that, over time it will be your calling to become the "parent" with your folks and bend and sway as the Goddess does to make them feel honored, respected and loved. Because it's really about G-d not us. It's about us being a divine representative of That and not defending our choices or chosen path in this particular incarnation. You certainly are on your way and Spirit is proud of you. Which is everyone's true parent

  • Mom threw the book at you?

    Ahem, sorry bad pun.

  • Much appreciated, Queen. Thanks!

By the way, you are absolutely gorgeous. Just sayin.

  • hey random, but i realllly loveeee your make up! can you put up a vid on that? if not, at least tell me what you used?! but i respect your belifs, but why did you choose this? just curious.

  • I would agree with you that its a parent's right to be concerned. Their kid is their responsibility. They just want to make sure that their kid is doing the right thing. Sometimes they go overboard and don't realise that they need to let their kids try their own path though.

  • What exactly is the "broom closet?"

  • kind of like, when someone that is gay comes out, us pagans and wiccans really do that same thing. to come out to the world or there parents.

  • Ah, i see. Atheists, like myself, have a similar thing as well.

Isn't it great to live in such an open and accepting society? /s

  • Ha, yeah I know right!

  • cheers!

  • Kudos to you! I'm in my 40's & am not sure what I am spiritually, however, I know that I am not a Christian. I have nothing against Christians - my best friend is one. However, my neighborhood has some Christian zealots who are trying very hard to turn others against my family because I don't subscribe to their belief system. I don't care what they do or say about me, but I don't want my 11-year-old daughter to get caught in the crossfire because of what her mother believes. Live & let live

  • Hey there! Just wanted to say that this was a good video and you appear to be strong! Keep it up!

And she threw a Bible? Really? *headtilts*

  • im still in the broom closet im 19 ive been practicing for about 4 years really but 6 if you include general research and skirting the line between judeo christian and pagan beliefs. i admire you for the fact you have come out of the broom closet and remained strong in your belief despite adversity. keep up the good work!

    Blessed Be!

  • You appear a very strong, mature, intelligent young lady. Always remember that. Ask whoever you ask (guides/spirit animals) to help you.

I don't know what to say about ur parents been Christians, in my home religion wasn't important, been a good person was, but I think it's awful that ur mother did that to you.

You will find that the people you need in ur life will come and offer u acceptance. Blessed Be

  • She cried after this video...

  • I told mine to fuck off it isn't their business.

  • I know its totaly off subject, but darlin your beautiful. Oh and as far as the vid, my family dosnt agree but.we tolerate each others beliefs.

  • She threw a BIBLE at you?! Jeese :S

  • I think one way in which the HP books have influenced the occult/pagan community is the tendancy to refer to non- pagan/occultists as 'muggles'. I find this a disturbing trend. on the surface it seems harmless, but it creates a division. 'Us' and 'Them' do we really need to become bigoted against those who don't share our beliefs? Would doing so actually be beneficial to the pagan community?

  • Argh! that last response was meant for one of your other videos! I'm sure you'll be able to tell anyway. stupid webbinets....

  • Well some books on Wicca or Paganism call non-magic users "cowans." Same difference.

  • aaggghhh i love your videos!! and i love your makeup. haha off topic.

  • One of the christian beliefs is "predestination" this is a theological term, and it states that God before you were even born knew and chose who would be christian and who wouldn't be. You can google it. One way I've thought of dealing with the fall out when I finally come out of the broom closet is to say I'm just one of the ones left out. And point out that it's not their fault. My parents honestly LOVE me, but they don't understand because they're scared. Anyway, that's me. Bye.

  • my mom dont care but I will never tell my dad he will flip

  • I want it to be known that I, personally, choose to wait until I am out of the house (away to college after this year) to speak up and be open with my beliefs. I come from a southern, christian family and I am surrounded by people that find small things blasphemous. I have had countless negativities occur because I wear something or carry something that isn't 'of faith' when I really don't speak about my beliefs at all. I can handle it when I am out. But for now, I'm in the broom-closet.

  • I am in no way angry either. People that live in the area where I do are just so set in their beliefs that I have them pushed upon me... even if I say nothing. I own tarot cards and was carrying them around in my purse. I opened the purse to get money out to pay for something and a person saw them. He told me that I must repent or see the wrath of hell and got so ridiculously upset. No joke, this happens often. I don't even have to say anything. But I will become open soon... so wish me luck!

  • lol speaking of coming out, I still haven't fully come out yet.

  • thanks for subscribing your hot by the way

  • But when parents try and turn, or indoctrinate their kids AWAY from evil things...they often inadvertantly lead them into false thinking...and lead them down the paths that THEY want their kids to follow.

I think its safe to say that there is NO person on the world, who's way of thinking has NOT been influenced in some way by their parents.

    Great video...

    GRIMM

  • I agree with you, to an extent, on this topic. The hardest task in these situations is to UNDO the conditions that were placed on you at birth through your family. Most times that means distancing yourself from them. Then comes the task of putting into practice what YOU want to believe.

I swear, if god were so loving, you'd think part of "his message" would involve LETTING GO.

  • One of the hardest things about being a different faith than your family is a lack of accepance. Especially if they are ignorant of that faith. I doubt many families shout and scream their child will burn in hell for converting to buddism.

However distancing yourself is not a solution. you have to consider that thier position comes from love and concern. In this case for the sake of harmony being 'loud and proud' might not be the answer.

  • I strongly disagree. I think that distancing yourself is necessary in order to grow as an individual.

On the topic of love, I read a quote from Nietzsche (I believe it was "The Birth of Tragedy") that said:

I too was born of love. (The quote was to replace "Abandon all hope, ye who enter" from Dante's Inferno; referring to The Devil).

    Think about it.

  • Well you are certainly entitled to. I can see your side of the argument as well. It is my opinion however that this philosphy can lead to isolationism. Paganism is not isolationist. It is a communal faith based on the closeness of family, friends, and community. All working toward the benefit of all. I feel it is the duty of every pagan to integrate harmoniously with society. I fail to see how cutting off ones family acomplishes this.

  • I agree with you, ultharcody. Also, I find Nietzsche to be pedantic and useless as a thinker on any issue, let alone metaphysical. I prefer Carl Jung's philosophy of universalism, which seems to be more compatible with my practice of the craft - whether solitary or in harmony with others.

  • Before I go anyfurther I have to state that I do not even knowwhat my spiritual and religious path is....Im still very much on the fence. But I have to state that you are very brave for coming out of the closet about your beliefs, especially in todays society. However I do understand why parents raise an eyebrow to witchcraft etc...as it has for as long as possible been made out to be an evil thing, dark and hatefull..and parents always want the best for their children.

  • WOOT! I'M SUPER COOL! lol, Well anyway, thank you for your response,I'm going to make a vid here in a second, i just need to find my camera!

    ;-D

  • Very nice vid :D I made a text response on his video :)

    Blessed Be.
