  • I don't hate Javert. In his world, Valjean was the enemy. A man who defied the law and got away with it didn't make sense to him. He only knew one way and that was the law. So I don't hate Javert. I feel sorry for him instead.

  • Javert's suicide is made heart-wrenching thanks to Philip. A character we are supposed to hate is made lovable by a great singer and actor!

  • Michael Ball is terrific!

  • One of the best Javerts yet. The note at 1:30 does it for me.

  • i guess this javert's suicide may well be my most favourite (master)piece of music ever. seriously, unbelievable.

  • just beautiful

  • Wow, I hate comparing the 10th to the 25th but this is far superior, especially the interpretations of Javert. While I think Norm was great, his Javert seemed very militant and above getting his hands dirty, while Quast's Javert seemed like he would hide in the shadows and crawl through mud just to get the upper hand on Valjean. Anyone else agree?

  • Philip Quast and Michael Ball just stunning ♥

  • Marius' deep voice is so sexy

  • ugh! Lucky people watching them live... Wish I was there.........

  • A black man playing Javert in the 25th is political correctness gone mad. No way would there have been a black copper in those days. The blacks were moors and the French fought them.

  • @thehouso I agree. People these days are so obsessed with political correctness they try to rewrite history.

  • @Anonymous1226 No one is rewriting history. It's not like a movie, where they honestly try to convince you that the set IS 18th-19 century France. With plays, you can suspend your disbelief a little.

  • @Anonymous1226 We wouldn't have Lea Salonga as Eponine if we listened to complaints like that. This is about talent. Otherwise we'll end up w/ someone like Nick Jonas as Javert in the 50th anniversary.

  • @jp3813 oh, god! i was quite surprised myself to see african-american Javert in the 25th anniversary (not racist at all, just don't think it was common in 19th century France for police inspectors to be non-caucasian), but when you put like this, hell, get people of all possible races here at once, just keep jonas brothers out of this, please! :D

btw, STUNNING empty chairs and empty tables here.

  • @VengeanceDarling It's theater, not a historical re-enactment.

  • @thehouso I'm curious how they got a Philippine Eponine from two white parents. I prefer Quast personally but Norm is also good. The directors went with people they thought would do a good job, not race.

  • @thehouso Dude, we have an Asian Eponine here. Calm down. lol

  • I am in tears because michael ball sings this so beautifully, and in tears because Nick Jonas is so awful!!!

  • Damn it, I love Norm Lewis, but Quast as Javert is unmatched. PERFECT.

  • 1th = 10th ;p

  • I think Michael Ball, Lea Salonga and Philip Quast are the greatest actors and singers in the 1th anniversary of Les Miserables. I just love them.

  • Nick Jonas as Marius was an absolute joke. That choice wasn't justifiable in any way. He can't act. He can't sing. It was disgusting.

  • My gosh,Philip Quast's acting...All aspiring Javert actors out there, take note cause this is how it's done.

  • IT'S EITHER VALJEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAANNNNN OOOOOOOOORRRRRR JJJJJJJJJJJJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's kind of sad that in over 15 years they've never been able to top this version in ANY performance, in my opinion. Maybe in the 50th anniversary?

  • I am actually in love with Michael Ball - the best Marius of all time

  • No-one excpet alfie boe and hadley fraser has ever matched up to the 10th anniversary cast. However I didn't think Nick Jonas did a bad job, i laughed when i heard he had the part but when i actually heard him sing i thought it was a decent job BUT michael ball is obviously better x

  • you're the man. this marius separates the men from boys.

  • omg his voice.. empty chairs and empty table.. aaahhhhh made me swoon over. again n again.

  • Empty Chair and Empty Tables will always be relevant. ALWAYS. </3

  • For those who want a good laugh or who want several reasons to be disgusted with the world, watch Nick Jonas sing empty chairs at empty tables in the 25th anniversary concert.

  • @BentropySS Amen. It was insulting. People are supposed to buy that?....I'd be pissed if I'd had a ticket to see the concert and that snot was cocky enough to think he had the pipes/acting for that.

  • @BentropySS omg he's awful in that...i almost felt bad for the guy. hahaha

  • @BentropySS ugh don't even get me started. he ruined les miserables. no soul what so ever!!

  • @BentropySS Holy hell, that happened? Oh, HAAAAAYYYYYLLLLLLL NO!

  • @BentropySS For those who want to see an asshole post idiotic Youtube comments, watch this guy here.

  • @BentropySS haha It's the best laugh I've had in years!! Although when it's over, I feel like just putting him out of his misery. Least he tried? (NOPE wish he didn't!!!!)

  • Ugh, tears every time. ;________;

  • Javert's sooo amazing!

  • Can you post the rest of the show please?

  • @Somegirl03 Actually, it is all up. In 11 parts. (:

  • @limegreenbella And that's so perfect!
