  • Prince Hall Freemasons have recognition with the United Grand Lodge of England, the English Freemason would be allowed but of course let the Men of the House know you're coming to visit.

  • @bigrider2806 You would be most definitely welcome to visit depending on the jurisdiction you were to seek admission. An easy rule of thumb is the further north you are the more tolerable the mutual recognition is. IL , OH off the top of my head has mutual recognition. Most southern states don't.

  • That line up was completely wrong. Never put a family behind the WM

  • @NastyNoble1 THANK U SO MUCH FOR POINTING THAT OUT. I AM NOT A MASON BUT I DO KNOW YOU NEVER PUT THE FAMILY BEHIND THE WM

  • as an english freemason would i be allowed to visit a prince hall lodge ?

  • @bigrider2806 Would your lodge allow you to visit a lodge that they do not recognize?

  • @MrsKehino I asked if I would be allowed to visit a prince hall lodge , this is directed towards prince hall members as I would like an answer from there point of view . What my grand lodge dictates is not part of this question as many English masons visit or have wives in eastern star lodges which are not recognised by them as regular . Therefore not every dictate is followed by members and what I see of prince hall lodges impresses me greatly .

  • @bigrider2806 I know that as an OES member...anyone who is not recognized by my GL will not be welcome in my chapter. Nothing personal.

  • @MrsKehino i find the situation between grand lodge England and prince hall Freemasons confusing , they seem to recognise some lodges but not all and if you telephone to clarify it gets even more confusing ! as a white English Freemason would i be accepted as a visitor at a prince hall lodge or would there be problems at the prince hall end that would stop this ? i find the attitude and behaviour of prince hall masons very encouraging and wish lodges in the UK behaved as well !

  • @bigrider2806 I assure you the allowance to visit would have nothing to do with white or black. There are caucasian prince hall masons. Just as there are African American mainstream masons. But I will fall back and allow my brothers to answer. I am curious about there being OES chapters in England..and they are not recognized..what is the relationship like with that? We would get expelled; charter would be arrested, etc if our grand chapter found out that we did anything of the sort.

  • Yes,..we are not racist. As long as your dues card is updated.

  • @bigrider2806 If it is recognised by UGLE as regular

  • We have members of ALL races and creeds; definitely NOT racist...if you knew anything about the Fraternity you would know that.

  • Fact: color has nothing to do with anything.

  • I'll wager you will never see a mixed race Freemason assembly. I have been told by several masons both black and white that they have separate lodges. That, in my opinion is racist.

  • @Redskin1040 You are thoroughly erroneous, we have both black and white, asian, muslim, indian, and native american freemasons in my lodge. We do not meet in separate lodges, Worshipful Master of our lodge is a black man and I adore his wisdom and friendship. Do not make blanket statements based off of an outside perspective which you can know nothing about.

  • @Redskin1040 Sir, you are mistaken. Every lodge I have ever sat in has had persons all colors and creeds. They most definitely do not meet in different lodges. It's better to be though a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

  • @WalkByFaith304 well said brother .

  • @Redskin1040 your badly informed .

  • @Redskin1040 I have four brother in my lodge right now that are white and one asian. And one of the white bruhs was created with me to Shrine. Most definatley lodges are not racist.

  • @ Clemsonshawty, was your grandfather active when he passed?

  • they didn't do this at my grandfather's funeral..... Is that because all of his mason brothers were too old to be carrying anything other than their body weight? (my gramps was in his 80s)

  • @Clemsonshawty Usually it has more to do with the wishes of the person being buried, if he lets his widow decide the fraternity will go with her wishes, and just send flowers. If he did not place it in his will to have a masonic funeral they cant force it on the widow.
