its such a shame watching this now, and remembering how optomistic we all were and proud then looking back at how dissapointing it all was, not just england the whole world cup was a farce. i almost shed a tear towards the end of this.
lol England do not have a chance they didn't beat America so i don't think they'll beat Brasil, Spain or Germany. But that was Greens fault but still i think they'll have to play their best and involve Rooney more, And can someone explain to me why Hesky is a forward? Why don't they have Ashley Young or Jermaine Defoe?
It might have more to do with England underestimating the US. And if Green hadn't fumbled that one ball, there's always the possibility that the one that hit the inside of the bar went in. So it seems likely the US was going to score once.
@dEdGrimley you cant look at the game like that if usa didnt score that lucky goal england may have had more confidence to push forward and therfor could have hammered us 8-0 but we will never know lol
I'm pretty sure you can look at it like that. If Heskey never kicked Howard in the chest, maybe Timmy would run into the outfield and score one himself. My point was that the US had 1 lucky moment, and one unlucky moment. It's not unreasonable. To think that a mild confidence boost would've turned the game into an utter rout is.
@dEdGrimley i never said england would have hammered US i was just saying you cant look at football games like, US never looked like beating us and england are and were an overall better team on the night and howard scoring a goal? and confidence is a key to win games
?... Please tell me that English isn't your first language. I can't understand a word you just wrote.
What I can guess as to what you meant was that England IS a better team, which no one would deny. But if you're going to assume that England was unable to score another goal because the US had so psychologically demoralized them by getting 1 lucky goal in, then they don't deserve to win anyway. Couldn't you just as easily say they should've been more fired up to score again to win?
@dEdGrimley how can you not understand that? are you mentally challeneged there is nothing wrong with my English this is my fuckin language from my country its you americans that wine and cry about grammar on a comment section get a life you little fuckin mess, and to answer your question no i couldnt of said they should have been more fired up, the whole point of the argument is that i said green made a error and USA were lucky which they were FACT!
@dEdGrimley you mug how can you moan about someone else’s use of the English language when you yanks have raped the English language and the word Soccer is a perfect example of this. Its called Football due to the description of the sport.. using the foot with the ball. Piss off and go watch rounders (baseball). American football should be called, throw the ball and take a lunch break before resuming play again.
Lol, I hate to make an example, but it would be "than" us. But no, I won't claim that Americans speak English more properly than the English. I personally take particular care to try to use proper grammar, but Americans, in general, are often proud of their ignorance. I see it EVERY day *COUSarah PalinGH*). I'm sure we're fairly comparable. I could find any number of teenage American girls to put up against franksy and asorbicacid, and it would be equally incoherent.
I do agree with u to a certain extent but I think the 'chav' culture has ruined the language. What I'm trying to reinforce is that in the future based on the comparison of young brits and young americans, young americans are able to articulate themselves as opposed to some of these 'chavs'.
lol We've got a generation of chavs of our own, we just haven't got a fun nickname for them.
Let's at least agree that it's not a competition and we've each got our own set of dictionary destroyers. When I see my little teenage cousins updating their Facebook statuses, saying they need to "study for their English exam 2mrw", Well, I point out the irony and laugh.
Lol As much as I love a good self-abasement argument, stop talking down England, I might move there still xD.
Have you all forgotten what a comma is? Perhaps so. Clearly, the English and the US are equal in terms of butchering the language, as it seems is the case on everything else. Including soccer, the nickname for football, invented by the British to describe what was once known as "Association Football", and then you turned the word "Association" into "Soccer". You can't complain about a word you invented.
@dEdGrimley ,,,,,,,,didnt know the youtube comments section was an english exam, so smart ass do you care to explain the reasoning behind the naming of american football,,,,,,
As it turns out, some people need history and language lessons.
American football came about from its development and evolution from "Rugby Football", and used to have more of a tradition of drop-kicking. To differentiate, it was being called "football", since "soccer" wasn't as prominent a sport in the Americas. And it stuck, thus giving two sports incredibly stupid names in North America, instead of just the one silly nickname for Football-Football.
Lol, I get that you're bitter about the way Americans portray soccer/football, and I prefer soccer/football these days to other sports, including American Football, but American football is simultaneously a very, very physical game, and something of a chess match. Both are fine games, it's just that they're called things that don't make sense in the US.
imagine marradona on jeramy kyle show.
we asked in 1986 did you deliberately handle the ball against england, you said no.
well well well, you are one dirty cheating little liar
*gasp* *huuuuuh* booooooooooooooooooo
