Okay im a noob at this some so i'm confused, If your supposed to read the firmware off the old pcb then write it on the new pcb then why wouldn't you just flash the old pcb? I heard that you have to have a unlocked pcb for the drive i have but if you could hook up your a regular one to your computer i don't see why you couldn't flash it.

am kinda new i bought a new xbox 360 slim with dvd drive lite-on DG-16D4S and the FW 1071 do i have to replace the PCB to flash it..

no i believe you can kamikazi the drive but this is for experienced people only! it is very easily to brick and destroy the drive that way easiest method is unlocked pcb

i believe the new dash flashed all slim drives to the same firmware well the dg16d4s series at least

i cannot say yet, after looking at xecuters i noticed it is not upgradeable via usb (from what i can see) which is a cool feature on this board but it is to early to say once i get my flashing tools and install instructions i will install it and go from their :) dont want to tell you until i know for myself
