Great vid,747 is awesome,far nicer looking than the newer ones.I'm still a little confused as to the reason for the GA.If there was a warning why didn't he just say "716 is going around, gear warning light" or something. Which makes me think something else caused it and they had to think of an excuse quickly :) You say there was another plane already on the runway?

Jamee, Indeed it is very good airmanship from the PIA pilot. Would have been unsafe to land, another plane was on the runway so could be ATC's fault :-)

Been on several airliners on go-around. Final approach into Perth was due to airliner still on runway. Nothing wrong with go-arounds if unsafe to land. crossinthebox, I'm sure you'd rather wet your keks than kick the bucket due to an unsafe approach. As a cessna pilot I've done several go-arounds myself due to Xwinds and I've always been told if you have ANY doubts, go around!

yeah cause theyre smaller, and u fell more comfortable in a plane that there r less room to run around than just sit there and relax, maybe sleep, and easier to land..
The pilot/s are extremely busy when & after they execute a go-around. By the tone of the female controller, you'd think that the pilot had done something wrong by executing the g/a. It is more than fair to allow pilot/s to assess the reason before they give their statment to the controller...after, and only after they have ensured the aircraft is safe enough to fly and on course for the go-around procedure, befor etheir next approach.
I think that's what a pilot have to do when something like this happen and not to take any risks cuz many lives and to much money cuold be gone, cheers for the pilot.
