  • okok i have the evo shift 4g... my dad got the evo 4g... shit is HUGE!!!!!

  • I like them both, but my Photon rocks both these phones! Of course, it's newer. lol I would like to see Moto-Droid come to Sprint though, like the Bionic...*tear*

  • the hard buttons on the X allow me to rest my hand while watching videos, the capacitive buttons on the evo will be activated if u try that.

  • Droid x is better period sprint network is crap they roam to much and why yall are takin crap about verizon what would sprint be with out verizon no where they roam on the verizon network losers

  • @coreys96n02maximas you just made a good point. Verizon is CDMA as is sprint. that's why sprint relies on Verizon... what sprint needs is some of Verizon phones... OR THE WHOLE COMPANY

  • Sprint eve is better

  • i think both phones are relatively equal, but when it comes down to it, its the carriers that make the difference. and as we all know sprint's network kinda sucks, no offense sprint users. but verizon's network is phenomenal in most areas. so i think im going to have to go with the X. also because my last name starts with an X, so its a no brainer :)

  • evo is already a killer phone next month in june there is a 3d evo and im mean 3d evo look out verizon sprint is comming after your little thunder bolt

  • @MrSmokinhotdude And the droid bionic is coming after the evo 3d :P

  • @apeers28 lol whooo sounds scary lol fuck verizon

  • My Droid X with 2.3.3 Gingerbread is better.

  • what the hell happened to phone with mechanical menu buttons. so sick of touch buttons and wooops accidentally exiting apps and games.. sheeesh

  • when I saw the droid X in 1080p i jizzed 1080 times. Xd

  • sprint htc evo 4g is better, faster. and the sprint evo 4g is a good phone

  • Overall this years the Driod X 2 comes out this year so it really not need to get the Htc Thunderbolt, Also Sprintpcs just fooled everyone who bought the Evo 4g because when the Htc Saber comes out....aka Evo 2 your going to wish you never bought the evo 4g......oh yeah Iphone 5 {4g}

  • @djicecold2 Anyone that bought the Evo will stay happy for a long while. Trust me and let's not even bring up the Iphone in this conversation. Until IOS becomes something great, the Iphone is just a piece of good hardware. IOS and it's functionality sucks.

  • I LOVE Sprint. Great service, Great phones, and a great price, just $70.00 a month for unlimited everything.(: Sprint ~ The Now Network

  • Comment removed

  • I was running 4g with my evo and I kept losing signal and this fella with the moto droid and was playing two and three videos to my one Verizon is no joke.

  • Listen I've had sprint and I was always dropping calls and losing service. Its all about the network when it comes to these phones and we all know Verizon is the better of the two though it is substantialy more expensive it is better. I've had t-mobile,sprint,att, and none of them can touch Verizons powerful network. Subways, elevators, deep in the country Verizon works the others don't. I was in dallas once where 4g is with my evo and some guy came in with the moto droid and embarrased me.

  • @camvvti yea but its not that that simple. both phones can make me happy. its a matter of which 1 makes me happier

  • Big deal who care i love my droid x beside it is a little longer than Evo

  • i like the kick stand

  • hey the htc thunderbolt is coming out sometime in late feb or early march. my contract doesnt expire till december 2011 and im not waiting that long. shud i wait and get the tbolt or go ahaead and jump to the droid x??

  • @youngkballer31 what ever makes u happy

  • i have the htc eris and i didnt no it did the home screen thing neat! haha

  • he said the Evo 3g

  • I HAVE THE HTC EVO 4G PHONE HAVE HAD OT FOR bour MOTNH NOW AND ITS COOL BUT I DONT THINK IT I S ALL THAT I CLAIMS TO BE MAYBE BECAUSE I HAVE NOT TRIED OUT EVERYTHING IT IS CAPABLE OF DOING BUT AT FIRST THE BATTERY LASTED LONG PERIOD S OF TIMES FOR LIKE THE 1ST 2 WEEKS AND WHCIH I LVED HAD SAMSUNG MOMENT BEFORE THAT AND BATTERY LIFE WAS SO SHITTY ANYWAYS NOW AFTER HAVING IT FOR NO MORE THEN A MONTH WHEN IM N NTERNET ITS STARTS TO FREEZE ALOT AND THE BATTERY SUCKS NOW DOESNT LAST VEYR LONG

  • count much???

  • This is how you do a review video. Well 'filmed' with good visuals and audio and most of all he speaks clearly and clearly either rehearsed or knew enough about what he was going to say that there are no "ummm ummm ummm" moments. Kudos. I wish all review videos were done this well!!

  • great video thanks big help i personally want the evo but my mom and dad are on verizon and i recommended the droid x to them. I think it really comes down to preference of service provider!!!!

  • Htc is htc sense, and droid is android.

  • Comment removed

  • @iVlogForYouToo no. the htc evo is has sense ui. the droid x has motoblur ui. get your facts straight before you mislead people. the OG droid was vanillia (stock/plain) android. the rest have not been so lucky. there are a couple htc phones with vanillia android. the vast majority of all htc phones will have sense, motorola will have motoblur, and samsumg will have touch wiz. it all depends on preference..

to people considering buying a new phone: try out a couple different ones before you buy.

  • i have a droid x my self to me its biger in better the thing the evo just a 4g, cool

  • Your review seems kinda biased. It's obvious that you know more about the EVO 4G. But you needed to spend more time with the Droid X before you refer to it as "this guy"

  • I think your semi-robotic sounding accent is cute. And the review was really useful. Thanks.

  • my friend has the X, and it's sooo slow, it will take him 5 min to pull up a contact and make a call. he's always complaining. It's almost like it has a virus or something lol. anyone have the same experience?

  • @lplswon yeah my phone re boots alot it will take forever to do about anything

  • is it just me, or the droid x seems to be bigger? :O

  • That was a very, VERY helpful video! I currently use an HTC Eris and have a lot of respect for HTC product. I have dropped my svelte Eris from waist high onto concrete and asphalt and despite the slim/petite feel, it's held up admirably. I'm still under contract with Verizon (and probably will stay with them as coverage is better than Sprint where I live) but would like to see the Evo 4G offered by Verizon soon. It seems like a slick phone and again, I like HTC.

  • you forgot to mention that the evo has a front facing camera

  • @firedoc0 its okay that your slow

  • Slow down, you are almost speaking in mumble jumble....the first 28 seconds just turning on the phones and telling us what phone is which....it is obvious as we can see the names on the phone Sprint...uh um uh um uh um if you have a day job, keep it as you will not work for Motorola or Sprint for that matter

  • my space lol

  • 3 4 3 for watt ahaha

  • Great review.

  • I suppose you are right but I will agree that AT&T has some work to do on their network. The iPhone could be that much better on a better network...

  • what will the Sprint people have to brag about when all the other main Companies go 4G?

  • @thashoeplaydisplay not all companies will be able to give out exact speeds. Example AT&T is crap service so it probably wont be par on par with Sprint or whatever service is supplying 4G thats of course AT&T gets 4G

  • @SOF006 well maybe you can answer this, When did Sprint get so good. When I had them 4 years ago they were the worse. Every would laugh me out of a room when they saw that I had Sprint. WHat are they doing different now other than getting a better phone..

  • @thashoeplaydisplay Well unlike AT&T they improved their service and added a lot more features that come with it if you get sprint with your phone.

  • @SOF006 well I have Verizon and I thinking about getting the Droid X, my older sister has an EVO and it is pretty nice other than the bad picture quality. I just dont think leaving Verizon for Sprint is a good idea.

  • @thashoeplaydisplay Well then I guess thats your opinion. Just get whats good for you, Verizon might be better for you and Sprint might be better for others, it just depends on preference.

  • @thashoeplaydisplay ... Phone plan prices!

Sprint is $129.99 a month for a 1500 minutes/month unlimited data family plan

It looks like Verizon is $179.99 for a comparable unlimited data family plan with 1400 minutes/month. Verizon is also following AT&T's lead with a limited data plan (150 megabytes). A limited plan still only brings it down to $149.99 a month.

An iPhone will run you $139.99 a month, but you will also be limited 2gb a month.

Kind of defeats the purpose of smart phones right?

  • @mwegryn Now correct me if I'm wrong but I read that soon all major carriers will host limited data plans. Again, I could be wrong...

  • According to Sprint's CEO Dan Hesse there is no plan to limit their cell phone data plans. But I know, never say never. I'm sure it's just one way of keeping current customers from jumping ship to go to another carrier. To the best of my knowledge we are grandfathered in if we currently have an unlimited plan with our providers. I am not biased to one company or another by any means. To me it really boils down to what I get for what I pay.

  • @mwegryn I know a lot of people with AT&T that are also grandfathered as well.. I am not biased either and I have issues with all major carriers in some way or another..

  • Does anyone believe in 4g?

  • @Zyloez , I do ...It`s Supppppeeeeerrr Fast...

  • @Zyloez Does anyone believe in broadband?

  • YYou should have mentioned the front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, and that 4g, although limited to certain cities for now, is up to 10 times faster than 3g.

Also, the homescreens on both phones can be arranged in many ways with many apps and widgets, which on the evo there seem to be more useful widgets. One last thing, they both run on Android, so they its not like the Droid x is so much better because of Android.

  • EVO is a nice phone, except:

Limited coverage! We don't have a lot of coverage for phones in your area yet. Before you buy, we recommend:

Check our coverage maps to see if a Sprint or Nextel phone will work best for you.

Check coverage in the area you plan to use your phone the most, click See street-level coverage to enter your exact address or a different ZIP Code.

No thank you Sprint. All these "best" phones, on horrible networks. I'll stick with the droidx.

  • Droid X is the best cell on the market right now... dont compare droids to anything from sprint.. lmao......................... Droid wins in every aspect...anything that looks like it copied droid

  • @dojaboyii : Am wondering how can that be? My cousin he has the Droid X and his borther has the Evo,and both living in the 4G chicago area, the DroidX has the 2G speed dude...Droid X it`s good becauseVZW said so with them Tv commercials, which they spending $ 2.5 BLN, that`s why it`s better......LOL

  • @dojaboyii I have a Droid X and love it. But this is gotta be one of the most retarded comments I've ever read. Both phones run the same operating system. There was no "copying". The operating system was created by Google to be used on phones created by independent companies. And "Droid" is just a name. Motorola has their Droid Milestone, Droid X, and Droid 2, HTC has their Droid Incredible who also makes the Evo btw.

  • @dojaboyii -_-

You dont know much about the cell phone industry do you?

  • @dojaboyii your a dumb ass they are both android phones and the htc EVO is way better your an idiot

  • Which phone do you like more?

  • what ever the droid x in my book is still better beside i hate sprint had them in the past slow ass internet it might be 3 g but sprint sucks

  • what ever the droid x in my book is still better beside i hate sprint had them in the past slow ass internet

  • what ever the droid x in my book is still better

  • which one does better pics and video?

  • Where is the camera test on motorola ????

  • front facing camera, HDMI and a kick stand are these phones ? ?

  • the droid x is knig, the evo is a close 2nd, u could pretty much say a 1A to the droid x, but at the end of the day its a phone, and which of the two hav the better network?

    i rest my case...the droid x.

  • @Eworld777 Sprint roams over to the Verizon network...There is NO additional charge for the Sprint users.

  • DROIDX > EVO!!! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • the evo kicks the droids ass

  • Can you please turn off the volume on your computer while making videos? It's a great video but really distracting when we can constantly hear email and TweetDeck notifications

  • its a toss up between these two for best phone. the iphone is a POS and anybody that says otherwise is a homo.

  • @est623ce agree...The iphone can be great but it cant do the one thing it was meant to do....be a phone, go figure =p

  • I have the droid x,my buddies have the evo 4g and the iphone 4. We could nit-pick all day about the specs, but who gives a shit! I like my phone, they like theirs and in 6 months something better will come out that will blow both of these away.

  • nice video pretty helpful.

  • if you ever drop the X like that again, I may have to kill you.

  • @tpainandti ur gay

  • they didnt mention that the evo has a camera on the front allows video calling like the iphone 4

  • lol you said evo 3G at the end.

  • EVO wins , HTC is just making better phones nowadays , motorola used to be good though... they just need to catch up on innovation

  • thank you thank you thats realy help

  • hey guys, if i get my evo before the 2.2 andriod update comes how do i get the hardware update? answers appreciated :)

  • @coolbji there is an option to check for updates in the settings and wen it finds the update, it will download.

  • widgets on the droid x are just too blocky and cheap looking

  • htc evoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo its 4g has front facing camera better hands down

  • Fuck the evo and sprint sprint's service is shitty

  • @MrPiePie101 i have an evo and my service is the shit, so you might live in some cave or something where you get no reception haha

  • @zavaz2085...yeah..LOL!!!....however, Sprint needs to get 4G nationwide before they can do anymore...am I right? You are only 4G up north...down here where I am at the phones don't even get signal half the time. that's a fact. I put my phone next to the Evo & iphone 4g (4th generation not 4G speed)....and my droid X killed them. I need to make a video or something. LOL! thanks for the feedback though. I like friendly smack talk. LOL

  • As what most people say... EVO is much better. In the SF Bay area and suburbs have better reception coverage. Verizon: almost no reception where I live and where I work. Deal breaker Verizon is no front facing cam. No kickstand (which I use daily), no 4G, Wifi Hotspot which I use daily for my netbook and laptop.

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to tell which is a better... goes without saying.

  • 4:13 they pretty much have the same options... ITS THE SAME OS.

  • Evo wins! The camera on the Droid X takes forever to start up, thats why he skipped it and he didnt bother giving credit to the Evo for having a front 1.3Mega pixel camera.. Evo kills iphone and Droid X RIP

  • the most talk in which i learned nothing..

  • Like the review but you totally left out that the EVO has a front facing camera. Which kinda is a huge difference.

  • EVO killed it. I've tried 4G in both KCMO and STL, and I have to say it's like having my phone connected on my wifi at all times.

  • you dont know the droid x beat the sprint evo sorry

  • SPRINT EVO 4G, hands down!

  • they need a droid OS on the EVO 4G...

  • actually droid x does have kickstand just have to buy a kickstand case i got one

  • @Jordan21212 okkkkkk.....so it doesn't fucking have one then....the case does you stupid shit

  • @priya1985 damm u already tryna start some shit aint nobody got tyme 2 fuck wit yo raggedy asz

  • verizon has way better service!

  • the droid x is HUGE!!

  • The evo is just more of a beast. Plain and simple

The fact that it can tether up to eight devices on a 4G Service, or Wifi, is just amazing, as well as being able to video chat without being on wifi! I find the onscreen camera button a bit more useful, as you don't have to worry about it breaking off.

  • Not that it's a big difference but the EVO has a 4.25" screen and the Droid X has a 4.3" screen. You can see the difference when they are side by side but. So Droid X also wins as far as screen size.

  • @mach111111 evo is 4.3

  • i prefer the evo

  • Comment removed

  • lol he said evo 3g at the end. and yes, you forgot the front camera on the evo. cant video call with the droid x ;)

  • This here smart phone here.

  • I think I actually like the EVO better. It looks like a handy little phone :D

  • HTC all the way.

  • with the droid x the world is your kickstand

  • dont understand y ppl r like evo sucks cuz the extra $10 and u dont even get 4g wher i liv, u still pay more on the other competing carriers, im sure if they said evo plan instead of $10 premium no1 wuld complain

  • You forgot the front facing camera on the EVO

  • lol I like how your iphone made the mail sound at the start as if its yelling at you "hey dont forget me"

  • Great vid I'm deffinetly getting the EVO!!!! Now thnx

  • pretty soon our phones will be the size of iPads; they just get bigger and bigger. so much for the future of mobile phones.

  • Wanna talk prices!?! As of yesterday..Verizon now offers unlimited mobile to any mobile talk & text for as low as $59.99 per month. That with the unlimited mobile web and email for $29.99 makes Verizon extremely competitive. Also, wait till Verizon gets the 4g network. We are using a different system than Sprint & AT&T. Be ready for it! hoo-yah!!!

  • @LouisianaCritter Different system from AT&T, yes...from Sprint...no. Verizon and Sprint both use CDMA networks..which is why neither need SIMcards.

  • @Phaceial no offense...i am not talking about the towers and system. I am talking about the 4g upgrade. I know we use the CDMA and AT&T uses GSM. I am talking solely about the new 4G network. You will see in time and understand what I mean. Give it 1 to 2 years. It's the company that will install our 4G network. We are actually building it as we speak.

  • @Phaceial Oh..and we do use SIM cards on some models.

  • @Phaceial - LOL

  • @LouisianaCritter maybee where ur at its any mobil .i went today with my friend to verizon and here in l.a. its only unlimited mobil to mobil if there on th verizon network.

  • @LouisianaCritter ok thats cool bro but by the time you get 4g sprint will already be upgraded again. too far behind to catch up

  • the htc evo is way better and sprint plans alot cheaper than verizon's

  • @masterturbo85 thats because you get dropped calls constantly. you want a cheap plan, you get a CHEAP plan. said and done. end of story.

  • @masterturbo85 lol actually verizon is cheaper.

Droid X - 69.99 unlimited text and messaging

    Evo4g - 99.99 unlimited text and messaging

  • @greekjamesrox actually its not. With sprint you can get an unlimited data/message/mobile to mobile and 450 anytime min, regardless of network, plus their bs "premium data" for the 4g for 80 bones a month, and with verizon yeah its 69.99 for the intital plan, but then you have to fork out an additional 30 for data.

  • @greekjamesrox EVO4G $69.99 unlimited data, text & voice....Just visit Sprint's web site or go to a local Sprint store to here the total TRUTH!

  • @agrinsonis i have unlimited data text and calling for droid x and i only pay 59.97 and full protection for the phone (is: lost and or stolen/broken)

  • @NTxSHOTZ No they do not do lost or stolen..believe me

they cant do anything except for shutting off the phone

theres this thing called prey project, now that will track your phone if its stolen or lost

  • dude you forgot to mention the front facing camera on the EVO that allows for video chat which is probably the knockout punch in the battle between two phones

  • @abrown3711 by knockout punch you mean feature that is cool for the first 2 weeks you own the phone and then never used again?

  • @abrown3711 no the knockout punch is the battery life

  • @abrown3711 why would he forget arguably one of the most distinguishing factors next to the actual service providers? Nothing here that hasn't already been said

  • Android is everywhere now. Even pre-paid phones have android on it. Just a matter of time before an Android PC xD

  • @mrwright909 The android OS is based on Linux, so technically, there already are "Android PCs"

  • What about front facing camera on the EVO, and flash video support on the EVO, and custome scenes?

  • I currently have a jailbroken G1 on T-Mobile and seriously considering the EVO or the Droid X. Honestly if the droid X had a front facing camera I would've jumped on it already. Yes to some people that's not really important but I have use for an ffc because I video chat very often with family. I really like how verizon added 3 mics, very impressive and given the network voice quality on feature phones I can only imagine how good verizon would sound on the droid X

  • @g312g get the evo trust me its an amazing phone i have one :D

  • evo is the shit even though i dont get 4g where i live a barely get 3g but the plans are way better on sprint than verizon i pay like 85 bucks a month for unlimited cell minutes any cell internet text, gps 450 landline min. but whodoesnt have cells these days!!! i checked verizon everything is seperate i would of end up paying like 120 to 130!!!so 4 me evo wins!!!!!

  • @ERALOK28 um no? its 30 dollars a month for the data package and 15 for unlimited text and 60 for unlimited talk. so you pay like 15 dollars less a month but you dont even get the 4g so your paying extra for the evo but getting nothing put of it.

  • @ERALOK28 I agree, i tried to compare prices for a plan for the Evo, droid, and iphone 4 and the Evo was the least expensive and most reliable. with the iphone 4 i would have to pay around $160 a month where as i would pay $89 for the evo. EVO ALL THE WAY!

  • I likemy Evo, Im in a area that gets 4g, my speeds are about 6Mb/s down and about 2Mb/s up on 4g, Droid X is a nice phone but I think moto blur is to clunky IMO

  • Good Info

  • didn't even mention the front facing camera on the Evo...

  • The evo looks better but unfortunately the hardware on it is epic fail in comparison to the Droid X.

  • iono i got my evo this week and its the best phone i ever bought

  • @qreqorious Where did you get it from? The Sprint website?

  • @aguerrero16 nah my friend works at a store

  • i think u should've done the samsung captivate instead of the evo 4g

  • I'm getting my evo tomorrow, my friend at work has the droid x, so there should be a nice little grudge match there. But I love how Sprint is with the cost of the evo vs what my friend pays for his droid x. I think i'm only paying an extra $20 a month, and thats upgrading me to unlimited call time, internet, and the 4g coverage. With the extra insurance its an extra $7 but I still don't think i can beat that price.

  • evo4g wins. I mean it's goddamn 4G and the plan for the same sh1t is way cheaper on sprint. NO BRAINER.

  • Both of these devices are great choices..I don't think you can lose with either one.

It just boils down to which carrier you prefer the most...

  • okay i love this phone,, my question is which one is better the EVO or blackberry? o have the blackberry, but i am coming on update and i am not sure what do i get vv 9650 or the htc evo.. hmm? any advice

  • @sweetdreamstoall i would get the evo. i just got my evo a couple weeks ago and its the best thing i've ever gotten

  • who won

  • All comes down to Dollars.

Evo has a cheaper plan in my area.

  • holy shit a phone review that isnt something vs iphone...

the droid x will dominate because its on verizon, the iphone is great, the EVO is great but neither of them are on verizon, the most popular cell phone carrier in the US. people arent going to change carriers because of a phone, the fact that so many people are on verizon will just encourage MORE people to use verizon....the phone itself barely matters....

but it was a good review.

  • @gofudgeyourselfx

It depends where you live and/or travel. I'm on sprint and couldn't be happier. The networks are very close in terms of quality. The big difference is price. Sprint offers much more value than Verizon.

  • @gofudgeyourselfx "People aren't going to switch carriers because of a phone". Read your first sentence again lol. The iphone made a ton of people to switch to AT&T crappy service.

  • lol ur evo dosent run circles around it idiot.. the phones are basically identical beside front face camera and droid x runs on a ti omap....

  • @dominicf1 exactly and not to mention that sprint has very bad 3g coverage so how are they supposed to have good 4g coverage?

  • you forgot the front camera

  • lol. You got all manner of Tweetdeck, iPhone and Droid X sounds going on there!

  • I like this video. Use a lot more jokes.

  • Also, Evo has a front-facing camera. Kind of a big deal.

  • DroidX video is a lot smoother and the interface looks nicer. The Evo is still very cool though.
