That's pretty cool to see them play again, I used to watch them all the time when they were on the pro tour back in the day, neither was my favorite, I was a John Mcenroe fan, and later Andre Agassi.. Mats now lives in my hometown of Hailey Idaho, just out of Sun Valley, Mats also came close to death, he made a reservation on Pan Am flight 103, which was bombed over Lockerbie Scotland in Dec 1988, but he never took a seat on the flight, lucky him, just a little trivia for you all out there.
gee, i would never watch them play each other when they were at their prime so i dunno y im watching them now! lol...
come to think of it, i mostly only care to watch 2 players: mcenroe and federer (well, rafter too)
lendl is smiling b/c he gets a paycheck for doing this (he's the one who said tennis is a business) & is treated like royalty by the fans here unlike when he was playing when he was unappreciated/hated
Lendl played against Borg in Ostrava yesterday, sorry guys i forgot to record, but he seemed in much better form than in this match against Mats. I was actually very surprised at the quality of tennis i was watching from both of them, i had expected Borg to win purely because he had played more tennis, but Lendl was ready this time around and i think he is gonna give the guys on the senior tour run for their money.
Man I miss tennis like this. Work the point, set up the shot, think a little bit about some strategy, and then finish the point............That's what made tennis so fun to watch. No, not just rolling the ball in and hoping the other guy misses, but setting up the point with some thought........Today's tennis has it's own flare, but mostly due to just a few guys (Nadal, Fed, Del Potro, Hewitt, Gonzo, Roddick). Without Nadal and Fed, tennis is in trouble.
@1974romina se non avessi da fare un bip tutto il giorno..... cmq guarda che hanno 50 anni mica 80..... conosco diversi 50 anni in buona forma con una vita normale...
It's great to see back on the court my teenage idol, Ivan Lendl.
He's got the same old gestures: the search for the grip just before serving, the way he wipes his forehead and, ça va sans dire, the high position of his elbow at the beginning of the forehand backswing.

He's not so unpleasant as well people ever named him.

Lendl grandissimo fuoriclasse. Il tennis di oggi è così mediocre...
