@thegreatMSG - The stage or as we call it, cutting slats, are made of steel or stainless steel.
Yes, the waterjet will eventually cut its way through them. Most waterjet users move and rotate their slats to prolong the life and the waterjet can be used to make new slats.
@krap101 - The Flow Waterjet can cut with water only or with abrasive (sand in water). Any soft materials you can cut with a knife typically is cut with water only. All other harder materials use abrasive in the water to erode at the material.
Probably, these are CNC machines - they're programmed with a pattern and configured for cutting time based depending on the strength and thickness of the target material. Once the data has been loaded, the cutting is done automatically.

So cheesy that it's good. xD
But always interesting to see that you actually can cut stuff with water.
Powerful stuff, and i guess it also doesn't produce burnmarks.
Guess it's not perfect for wood though xD

@krap101 -If you were to turn the nozzle outward towards the open air, it only takes approx. 36” to dissipate the energy into mist!

@CanWaterCutIt Isn't there like blasting sand in the water as well or is it just water?
