"streaming is the ability to send live audio through phone lines into computers..."
WOW! Using telephones to broadcast... sound?? THAT'S CRAZY I TELL YOU! CRAZY!!
I love how some people actually used to think that sending audio down a freakin' phone line wouldn't work. DUH! That's what phones have always been for, retards!
It's amazing how far technology has progressed in such a short space of time. Compare what we have now, to what we had back then, just little over 10 years ago. Imagine where we'll be in another 10 years time.
but internet is older than that!! internet was made 100 yrs ago by nikola tesla , his tower/router was called the wardenclyffe tower it would give wireless internet and cellphones through the earth plus wireless energy! he said it would send voice, words, images, and moving images(video) . i put up information of teslas first internet 100 yrs ago if your interested

Thanks for your reply. That's understandable, what was inside the offices was definitely the focus. Creative Internet Solutions were the largest tenants of Designer's Guild back then, where Allaire started by renting two desks in one of their back offices.

To be fair, not everyone had acces to the Internet like we do now. So many were ignorant on the jargon. Hell, having an email made you a nerd.

That is great. I love the comment about the huge number of web sites out there...110,000. Hmm, I think I have seen that many just today.
Good stuff.

The word "Imaging" should read "Imagine" in the second sentence above. My bad. Now back to the program...
