  • OMG i love this song

  • @osakanone How about the entire soundtrack? Sonic CD JPN is still my favorite Sonic soundtrack to date. How did the American version take better advantage of it, huh? And for that matter, what would be considered "taking advantage of the hardware?"

  • where can I download an audio file for this track?

  • This is my favorite level in the game

  • @hoggys2much Yeah!.... Well except Ecco... But it's not like that's amazing or anything is it? I mean if it was then you'd be full if shit, but seeing as it's not... Oh wait a minute.

  • The best green hills zone theme :D I love it so much x)

  • mecha green hill zone was a remix of this

  • Toot Toot Sonic Warrior!

  • The US soundtrack was total fucking shit compared to the JAP/EU version.

Spencer Nielsen would not know how to write music if it came up and bit his ass.

  • I'm just posting this comment here for those who don't know, so ignore if this info isn't news to you.

This theme was remixed & remade as the main theme to Sonic CD for the Japanese/European release of Sonic CD; titled "Sonic: You can do Anything!".

Why they changed it for the US; I've not the faintest idea. Not that I'm complaining, as the US soundtrack was just as awesome as the JP/EU one!

  • @slam422 Sega said America wasn't ready for that style of music yet. There's also the whole thing that Sega felt that the JPN soundtrack didn't take advantage of the CD format enough.

  • @Billysan291 WHAT?! They said that?! The JPN version sounds WAY more like CD music than the US OST.

  • @KatamariParadox example track?

  • @Billysan291

In addition to those the Japanese music, while good, just didn't match what was happening on-screen while you were playing most of the time. While I do like both soundtracks, the American one just fit the action much better and set a darker tone that has yet to be seen in another Sonic game. Sitting down and listening though (not ACTUALLY PLAYING) the Japanese one is better most of the time.
