A harmonica is frequently called a Blues Harp so he is perfectly right.

And i would argue that just because a fairly large amount of people incorrectly use a word as nickname for something, that doesn't make it valid.

The simple test is for me to tell you - "I play the harp." From that statement, you cannot tell what instrument I play. It may be the harp or it may be the harmonica - if you want call the harmonica harp as well as the already established harp. If I say "I play drums...guitar...sax...tuba..e­tc....." You know beyond a doubt what I play.

You are incorrect. A harp is a harp, a harmonica is a harmonica. Do you really think a harp = harmonica and harp? Very illogical. Harp cannot be a valid nickname for harmonica because there is already something called a harp.

Sure, you can call it whatever you want, but that doesn't make it correct. I can call a guitar by the name 'drums'...doesn't mean it makes sense. There are already drums.

If you knew anything about harmonica, you would know that "harp" or "blues harp" is a common nickname that is often used interchangeably.
