  • is it just me or at near the end of the clip, was there a car that got flipped off the road by the tornado coz it didnt get out of the way in time??

  • i really want to know what this rated on the scale, and did it do any bad damage or just cross rural areas??

  • @AzzarClarKyy95 At a certain point it reached weak EF-4 levels, and it did do some damage. Here is a video showing it at EF-4, and destroying a building. Same tornado. /watch?v=vJN_1qcsDHg

  • @SupremeAmerican wow thank you, im hoping to be a storm chaser when im older so im looking into everything i can on tornadoes lol, but thanks, i will watch your link :D

  • Ar you listening to Leona Lewis?

  • 6:44 literally FROZEN! XD

  • may 23 is my birthday, I had a great party that year

  • what did this rate on the Enhanced Fujita Scale? does anyone know?

  • that car in front was crazy lol, thats thy footage u shud ov been getin

  • my birthday is may 23rd may :/ lol

  • 6:50 Holy #@%$ and Shingata !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is by far my favorite tornado video. The video of it crossing I-70 as a stovepipe/elephant trunk is absolutely awsome!!!!

  • hahaha that radio makes this so fucking gold

  • 0:28 Paralyzer thumbs up lOL

  • May 23 is my birthday its also carolous lenaouses too

  • 0:24 "I'm not paralyzed, but I seem to be struck by you.." lol

  • Love the soundtrack from 6:35 on. Sums up how Colt feels about tornadoes hahaha.

  • cant wait to get out there after i graduate from high school and later college after studying meterolgy get out and do some chasing

  • This is an awesome video. You don't realize how big they are until you see some perspective. I was thinking awe it's just and little EF2 but then you realize it engulfs both side of the interstate and just completely dwarfs that car. Crazy shit I need to see one in person.

  • @danfeb23

    Officially this was an EF4

  • The two idiots near the tornado obviously don't have a clue what happens if you get sucked into an F2 or better in your car.

  • the distance you are behind the car with its brakes on, is the distance i would have been in front of the car with its brakes on.

  • @Xoxinwulf and yet you weren't ;)

  • OMG wonder if the cardriver in the ditch u see briefly in the end was the driver u saw stoppin by and let that monster pass infront of him?shit hope they were ok:S!

  • it was kinda like 2 tornadoes because if u look at the the very top of the screen in the middle at 5:36 u see another 1 forming EPIC!!!!!!!

  • it was kinda like 2 tornadoes because if u look at the the very top of the screen in the middle at 5:36

  • Appropriate music by the SPIN doctors, lol

  • I can't believe that car just sat there and let the tornado pass right in front of him. XDDD If that were me, I'd have been turning around and speeding out of there like there was no tomorrow.

  • @BNSFSD40 "Two Princes" Spin Doctors

  • Song at 5:14?

  • that's what she said

  • How can he drive safely and still point a video camera at the tornado?

Apart from having a stupid name, the bloke is a cock!

  • Actually, all the motorist saw was a dark wall cloud likely approaching. It's later in the evening, and it was a rain-wrapped tornado..making it very difficult to spot. I've been in a similar situation myself, and it's extremely difficult to judge your distance from that monster.

  • YOU PEOPLE DO REALIZE ANYBODY CAN GET HIT ANYTIME BY A METEORITE FROM SPACE?! ONE LANDED IN PERU A FEW YEARS BACK. SO I HOPE YOU DON'T WORRY ABOUT TORNADOES BECAUSE CLEARLY WHAT'S THE POINT? I'D TAKE DODGING SOMETHING MOVING AT MOST LIKE 70 MPH OVER SOMETHING MOVING AT LIKE 20,000 MPH ANY DAY!!!! DEEEEEEEEEEEEEERPAFLERPAHERPADERPAFLERPADERPA!!!!

  • Funny this guy can be chasing a twister while listening to the Spin Doctors... :)

  • When I'm old and not caring too much about staying alive, I'm getting in a car and going chasing :D

  • holy cow i think if that were me there, there might have been a small amount of poo leakage lol

  • that thing is massive: thats what she said

  • Saw people crowded under an overpass at 2:40. Not a good idea. Winds can actually accelerate faster underneath an overpass, acting like a wind tunnel. Not to mention the traffic hazards people create when blocking the highway.

  • @stormspotterIN do you have a better chance of surviving an ef5 if you get sucked up by it without any kind of debris or is it still just as dangerous?

  • every car passing through actually sound like they're driving for their life!

  • now, that's really big and cool tornado.

  • god i want to see one in real life

  • I hate Leona Lewis:D.

    Great Video

  • 6:45 the people in the car up the road hittin it's brakes are probably having a severe heart-attack

  • @NickDValdez I couldn't understand why....look how big that thing is. Its not like it could have surprised them or anything lol. They probably were trying to get a closer look like the ownerof this video was.

  • like the song int the back ground. Paralyzer

  • mio dio che robba

  • is that an F5 tornado or is it larger then an f5 Tornado

  • @AmdriverX the system is actually based on the destruction that a tornado causes. People believe that its based on wind speed, but the truth is usually the speed at which the tornado rotates can determine the destruction it could cause depending on its location. Their has only been a single tornado that experts considered calling an F6 and it was the one in Kansas City but is still classified as an F5.

  • @juvygenius Please provide more info or sources on the almost "F6". When was this almost "F6" believed to have occurred. If you read documentation on the original fujita scale , the f6 to f12 scales were only theoretical and created as a comparison to the mach scale. Fujita never believed a tornado was possible which would produce damage beyond the upper wind estimates of the f5 scale.

  • @GOODY61 the source was actually the weather channel when I was younger when they did a special on worst tornado's in history. Further proof of the system is their was a tornado that did not rotate at high speeds and practically stood still near a town. When it started to actually move it had so much debris inside of it the damage was classified as an F5. The Kansas City tornado damage was in a state of emergency and ultimately they decided against calling it an F6 despite the incredible damage.

  • @juvygenius no such thing as an F6 or an EF6 tornado. F5/EF5 is the highest classified tornado rating that a twister can get. No meteorolgist, Wind engineer would spout F6 crap. NOAA doesn't even list F6!!!!

  • @bokasaaya That is because they never thought it possible in the first place. When Kansas City had been repaired their was talk about the possibility of the tornado being an F6, but again as I said they decided against it and passed it off as an F5 with the worst path possible.

  • @juvygenius I still believe this is all urban legend or you have misunderstood the details commented on in the special. Exactly what year was this tornado supposed to occur. Wikapedia has an extensive database on historical tornadoes and I never heard or read this anywhere. I agree with bokasaaya, the almost f6/ef6 is hogwash.

  • @juvygenius F6 to F12 were only theoretical to compare with the mach ratings in place at the time. Fujita never considered a tornado possible which would create damage beyone the wind estimates of an F5. I would like to see your sources for this so-called "almost F6". Pure imagination in my opinion, but I would like you to prove me wrong.

  • Also this is probably one of the awsomest Tornadoes I've ever seen on video. Good Job guys.

  • If you see a Tornado and don't know crap about stormchasing then STOP!!!!

  • The people in the car between 6:45 and 7:00 must've been shitting themselves

  • the radio was playin leona lewis- bleeding love at the end :3 tehe

  • yeah .. was thata dead cow?

  • @kavina656 looked more like a car.

  • in the starting the car radio is playing "paralized" by finger 11

  • multivortex is the most dangerous kind

  • ahahaha i just love the beggining." OMG that thing is huge" Than music pops on. haha

  • WoW he was brave to film that Tornado.

  • Was that a dead cow at the end

  • No, it was a car.

  • Stovepipe's are awesome to behold. Did you hear the noise that thing was making?

  • @kartkidchun

Yep, behold my almighty top hat.

    (stove pipe)

  • absolutely love the song in the back ground at 6:50!!! 2 thumbs up lol

  • That was on my birthday!!!:DD

  • @cierrapickles

nobody cares that it was on your birthday, people are born every day so of course it's on sombody's birthday.

  • haha. watever, lol

    peace, love, pickles:DD

  • Lol theres Reed Timmer at 6:52

  • It looked like it was roping out then it regained strength! Like it took a break then went back on its rampage. Great footage of a beast of a storm!

  • it was a car

  • Awesome tornado while listening to a obviously crappy radio station. What is the difference in a EF and a F tornado?

  • @TXrakkasan The F scale was used up until 2007. The For a couple of years up until 2007 scientists worked on changing the F scale when it comes to the wind speeds and damage done. In 2007 the F scale was dumped and the EF scale put in place.

  • From 4:09 to around 4:30 you can see what may possibly be to be a spinup or a satellite tornado to the right of the main tornado.

  • Yeah, I saw that too.

    Also, Spin Doctors!

  • was that a car at 8:06 ?

  • yes

  • lol spin doctors on the radio

  • Turn the music off! That and the commentary are some amateur shit.

  • that freakin idiot at 6:52. LOL I WISH I COULDA SEEN THE LOOK ON HIS FACE!

  • seriously. Did he not notice the gigantic tornado off to his left while he was driving? Did he not stop to think, "hey, maybe I need to slow down to let this thing cross well in front of me."

  • lol...they didn't see the "Tornado Crossing" sign...gotta pay attention to the signs.

  • great vid! But next time, don't play music while chasing.

  • If i was the car right behind the tornado the one that the camera was looking at,at 6:52 i would be like OH SHIT

  • Comment removed

  • Let me clarify. I hate it when people like you tell these ridiculous lies to get attention.

  • if u were in a tornado you go up to the hemesphere and before u drop to the groung ur dead

  • true. but its possible to survive. i mean, look at the miracle baby.

  • What? The "hemesphere"? What are you talking about?

  • damn that thing was moving fast!

  • Can someone please tell me how long a tornado lasts?

  • It varies greatly. Some last just a few seconds while others are on the ground for hours.

  • could be a few seconds, could be hours, it depends on a lot of variables

  • Anywhere from a few seconds to around an hour usually.

  • it can last up to 10 minuts long, i know this because i did a stupid report on it

  • their were tornadoes that last 3 hours.

  • They can last much longer than 10 minutes.

  • what did you get? an F?

  • It was an EF4, basically the same as an F4

  • Man the radio in the background was annoying...

  • Holy Shit Man You Was Neally Infront Of It Omg.

  • holy shit it passed right in front of u!! that guy in front of u musta been hella scared!!

  • Well, the tornado did sorta come from the side. Some people just don't notice the tornado (if you can believe that). Maybe they take the phrase "eyes on the road" a little too seriously.

  • Awesome Video. I prefer to hear the sound of the wind, rain, etc. in lieu of the car radio. Hope to see more of your videos.

  • i agree what a dumbass!! lol

  • if i was that guy, i would get the hell out of there, that things pretty close

  • hard rain

  • I think you would get more views if you didnt begin each movie title with 'INCREDIBLE' and 'INSANE'... it kinda loses impact after like 200 videos.

  • I agree.

  • 6:45 if I was that person I would be so fucking scared

  • So scary ! at 6:49 !

  • omg if i were that car up next to that thing, i wouldve backed up!

    not sit there

    Really great Video

  • I'm almost jealous of that guy.

  • are you kidding? im completely jealous

  • I would not want to be in either cars that were in front of the chaser's!!! The drivers were most likely pooping their pants, so their cars would stink!!!!! :P Tornado looked awesome!!!!!

  • wow!!! It looks so freakin' great when the funnel goes down and touches ground!!

    great video!!!

  • this was definetly a good day for chasing. it seemed like every thunderstorm was spawning tornadoes. I got to see three different tornadoes on may22 and may23, 2008. You definetly got a good one. I remember hearing the warning for a large tornado. But I was already on another tornado which was probably an EF 3. Good elephant trunk tornado, the majority of it was horizontal. You probably seen the video of it. Lane CO, Kansas. Keep gettin at it. 5 stars.

  • at the beging friends janes OH MY GOD

  • Amazing, one of the best tornado videos ever made.

    What a monster.

That's great that you helped the motorist who ended up in a ditch.

  • Yes I agree. This looks like a dangerous but VERY fun job.I would like to do this but I would freak out :)

  • Your life is worth much more than risking it for a piece of video. There is plenty of evidence that tornadoes can throw objects large and small at incredible speeds, for great distances. The driver in the white car at the end of this vid who is in the ditch with a caved-in roof paid the price for ignorance, right?

  • Some people don't notice the tornado in time, and although the tornado formed close to the chaser, it was a mile away when it crossed the highway.

  • Comment removed

  • Hahaha Leona Lewis... God I HATE that song..

  • Watching that thing cross is unbelievable. God.......

  • yes omg the big tornadoes cross the high speedway!! and lissening the radio come on plss next time turn off the radio :P

  • By the time it crossed the highway, it appeared to have weakened somewhat. i did not see any debris or damage to the highway. Yes, I agree that the car radio should be turned off and try to capture the roaring sound of the tornado

  • turn the damn radio off next time!

  • its the sound thats amazin to me :) Looking at it is unbelievable but the up roaring noise! :D

  • Maybe this is F2 or F3 Tornado...

    Anyway, 5 stars :)

  • Don't go by appearance. This tornado was an EF4 and at one point was a mile wide.

  • that guys crazy as a barrel full of monkeys....i wanna do that but not 2 close u no wat i mean....but i luv watching tornadoes...beware citizens of the great plains...they happen every week for u guys

  • thats crazzy, i bet the dude in front of the tornado saw his life flash before his eyes

  • lol its like dat guy in front didn't see it until it crossed as he slammed on his brakes "i think i'll let him cross da road" lol

  • hhaha totally

  • the dude in front of him should have had a camera too. :P

  • theres not alot of tornadoes where i am whats it like to be in an area with one?

  • at the end there was a car in that small lake o.o

  • I see the car but not a lake.

  • yo, when you watch a bit better, you can see small waves and the reflection of lights.

  • Probably just a large puddle then.

  • lol those cars were haulin ass to get outta there

  • Omg!!! The tornado, the tornado! It`s.........

    .....hey, is this keep bleeding?

    -What`s with the tornado?

-Oh, it `s just right behind and- WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • crazy vid you driving grand am?

  • the guy nearest to the tornado at 6:50 damn he must have been scared

  • lol paralzer is playing in the background.

  • Awesome video!

  • canada has been safe for a long time. please go fast 2 mo nths. i hate tornadoes. my brother died from 1

  • REALLY GOOD

  • Comment removed

  • Please type with proper grammar or go die.

  • Jeez, dumb motorist driving close to that tornado. It's like "I can drive near this tornado, it's not going to hurt me, because I'm invincible!" Man, that motorist was damn lucky that a storm chaser that had some brains and courage was close by to help.

  • thats a Classic Kansas tornado. Awesome

  • omg that is TOTALLY crazy!! you're brave

  • This video is unbelievable, one of the best ever. It starts out like an ordinary storm/tornado video, and then goes to the monster at the end.

My hat is off to you. I could never sit in the car and film something that horrible crossing in front of me.

  • That is fantastic footage, best I have seen. A definate thank you for sharing is warranted.

  • at my b-day lol

  • i want to see the film from the guy in the car infront of him when the tornado crossed the interstate, if he has any!!!

  • Is this guy crazy... at 6:55 hes driving right through it, like its no big deal to him. This has got to be one of the best tornado videos I've seen in quite some time... thank you for sharing it

  • wow

  • What a monster, Fantastic footage.

  • look at the people hiding under the overpass at 2:40. thats more dangerous

  • no its not its acually the safest place in the area...

  • no its not

it canact like a funnel honestly

the wind from the tornado could actually suck you up from the other end and take u into it

  • i wish i were in the car ahead of the guy at 7:00

  • paralyzer in the background in the beginning lmao

  • Jeez! how long did that monster last?

  • I held my breath from about 6:40 to 7:00 thinking that the car stopped further down the highway was going to get tossed.

I was amused by the music (Spin Doctors, "Two Princes", for one) since most chase videos have a soundtrack of radio chatter between chasers.

  • instead,it is called tornado crossing way.
