What a great, funny & clever late 70's track, just remember watching this song on Top of The Pops, such good times when most music then had no rules for fame, to get a hit song about Toast has to be respected, followed by the 80's era which completely took a step further with classic hits never to be forgotten.
Paul's such an amazing live performer & vocal stylist. Loved when he performed "Everytime You Go Away" in London at The Princ's Trust Concert with Eric Clapton & Mark Knopfler on guitar, Elton John on keys & Howard Jones & The Temptations Eddie Kendricks & David Ruffin on BG Vocals & Phil Collins on drums. This is wonderful insight into his early musical years. Thanks!
From this to..his landmark performance at Live Aid, (especially his duets with Alison Moyet)..Just amazing seeing how Paul Young progressed from top of the pops infectiously fun tunesmith songs such as this to becoming a neo Motown styled soul stylist and one of my favorite vocalists. Adorable song that was a hit in the UK, featuring some other incredible artists guesting..Producer Chaz Jankel, and music legends Jools Holland & Trevor Rabin on acoustic guitars & keys,
Umm ya bout tht French people dnt lyk toast thng... My step dad was born in France and he loves toast nd so does his family so speak 4 yourself... And can some1 explain to me y my teacher showed my class this? Cuz I'm confused
Thanks Eddydragon8! From an American that was stationed in England during the early 1980s. Loved this Song on Steve Wright's Show on Radio 1...Brought back fond memories.
