Dude I don't know what you're talking about. She's awesome. It's extremely hard to perform Korean traditional arts in the US, especially in college where everyone is busy with schoolwork. Being overly critical is not going to get more people to get into this stuff.
This performance seems to have you highlighted throughout the whole program, but you don't seem to meet the expectations of doing something great when you're in a nongak and you're the only one performing, usually they do something elaborate and awesome I'm sorry liz, but you really need to step it up your dancing seems fake of expression which defeats the whole purpose of korean traditional dance.
The playing of the drum is absolutely horrible. you need to use your wrist more. Also although i can't see your feet, you need to use them more (your heal with your toes upwards) to accent each move.
You tend to cut them short at the wrist and not follow through. Your bending is great, except it looks too exaggerated for the speed and mood of the dance. The dance needs more variety. The good things about you are the direction of your face they look correct, but again too exaggerated.
I suggest you watch a real professional do a small drum dance. You need to utilize the stage more, you need to use your breath (hope) to accent your dance moves and not just arm movements, your shoulders are a bit stiff, and you need to discover the fine lines of your arm movements.
Your moves reminded me of a child following in a line of nongak... when an adult uses this small drum, the moves are supposed to become more adult-like and a bit more complicated.
liz koo You are a decent korean dancer I'm sure many people may think your'e a great dancer, but this dance involves very little skill and provides no entertaining purposes for viewers yes your make up and dress is quite nice, but the dancing skills do not go with your costume i like how you put the other people in the background, but this basically reminded me of a nong ak with you being the center of attention for no good reason.
shes not THAT bad. It just needs more depth and she needs to control the stage a little more. more 'ogeum' knee bending thoughh. the taepyungso is awesome, kwaengwari is alright. yeahh.
