The Mononobe clan in the Asuka Period were a clan of the Early Imperial Court who opposed the introduction of Buddhism by Chinese immigrants in the 7th century. They had many fights over the spread of it over their native Shintoism. However, a great battle with their rivals, the Soga clan, killed the Mononobes leader, thus allowing Buddhism to spread into Japan and influence its history.

Stage 5 really reminded me of Imperishable Night. An amazing stage theme, a midboss with no dialogue, an amazing stage theme. This game was really reminiscent of older games for me.
