its called aws, when the signal is green, the bell sounds and the driver does not have to respond, but if the signal is at caution,a different horn sounds and the driver has to push a button within 3 seconds or the brakes apply.
The Forth Bridge is featured in The Northern Lights from video125.co.uk except it is filmed from an HST all the way from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. Includes commentary, runpasts, interior cab shots, aerial views and of course better quality on DVD.
I love this video so much! Crossed the bridge hundreds of times but never seen this perspective before! Looking forward to the new bridge being finished!
And how would you get a taxi on the rail way? and if it was it would be rum-belling all over the place AND how come you're the same height as the train that went past?
i live in inverkeithing and they should of kept the 1st foot bridge coz if ur in a rush to get to the other platform that was there but the point is coming from a 13yo so i can't remember tht footbridge lol
It's a wonderful video. This bridge and the entire line (Edinburgh to Aberdeen) was recostructed for BVE, a freeware train simulation and I see that man did a very good work!
@poolieboy07 I've remember travelling in the forth rail bridge when I was 3 or 4 before YouTube Existed I live in scotland Dalgety Bay, UK, North Queensferry (A few miles from it) And it's easy to drive in a car to south and I'm sure I liked it I think you know about Forth Road Bridge Also Their Building A New Forth Road Bridge from assembly I Looked and here's the formula from 1890 to 1964 to 2020 that's 3 centuries of spanning the firth of forth. Just to let you know! :)
Great video. Living in France I don't get to see the old girl much these days though years ago I used to cross it twice every day travelling between Dunfermline and Edinburgh. And then for 6 months I worked between the 2 bridges in N Queensferry. What a view!
No doubt about it. The most beautiful bridge in the world. It deserves to be better known.
Nice video, must be quite old though as the trees at the left hand side of Dalmeny are now houses, and the train that passed (forgot the number) went out a while ago.

I don't see any ties under the rails. If they're not needed, then why do we have them on American railroads?

What a cool view, like walking through a great industrial cathedral.
Grossly over-engineered by modern standards of course, but goddam that great beast looming over the Firth makes a hell of a statement.
