  • I am Hispanic and i don't even speak Spanish i am also a musician and i real in joy all kinds of music. This song is one of my favorites i love the music from the south including good old southern ROCK.

  • @syphen90125 Very good!!! So glad you like all types of music. I do also, so that's why there is such a mess on my channel. You just have to wade through the stuff to find a treasure! Thanks for commenting & letting me know how you feel. It's interesting to me & I do enjoy it very much. Go for it!!! My best to you, Barbara

p.s. Perhaps check out Tim O'Brien's Songs from the Mountains about Civil War time. Different tho. William Elliott Whitmore isn't able to go into a catagory. :)

  • You know im a hard rock music lover but i love this music.

  • @syphen90125 ALL RIGHT!!! I love rock & hard rock also, but Ry Cooder is a fantastic genius! I would use other words but I'm "grandma" now & have to be a good example. So glad you have expanded your horizens & are enjoying this. This is a bit different, so you might not appreciate it but Tim O'Brien's Songs of the Mountain is good Civil War era music. Different than this. His Farewell, Angelina from Red on Blonde is exceptional also. As I said, it's different than Ry.My best to you!

  • Ry Cooder fan since the Captain Beefheart days. Looking for the sountrack when Cole Younger goes down to Texas Bar to settle with Bell Starr. Love Ry's Geronimo work.

  • @ABOSS302 Sorry I can't help with that. Ry is a genius! Some of his stuff that I DO have is prohibited on my Channel by utube. :( Thanks for commenting & hope you've found what you are looking for by now. My best, Moppet

  • @MyMoppet52 I have worked with one of the Carradine Brothers, Christopher, who was an architect at Disney for many years. He had a picture of his family assembled from this film over his desk. Great film. Guess I will buy it to get that Texas song.

  • One of my favorite LPs back in the day. Love me some Ry

  • @marvflogs Hope you listen again & again. I do! Thanks for listening AND commenting. I like to see what the people are thinking. My very best to you, Moppet

  • Thank you for uploading this. In the movie it was just too short. Always loved this old tune, and Ry did a phenomenal job with it. Thanks again.

  • @yogini34 i'm always glad when I can get Ry Cooder on! much of his stuff is kicked out on my channel & he is a favorite of mine. Thanks for commenting. It makes me feel great to know others enjoy the music. I've added as much info for purchase as I could find. My best to you, Moppet

  • Hi.

    Thnx for sharing. Great work.

    I have a question;

In the wedding there were three diffrent melodies. You dont happen to

know the name of other two ?

    Greetings from Macedonia.

  • @xNAJAFx I could not find the songs. I looked and looked. I could not find it in the music credits for the movie either...at least with the info I had on hand. I was hoping I'd know the songs. I love early, primitive music (non bluegrass. I did not use the term 'primitive' in a negative sense) and had hoped I would know the songs. I don't. I will keep looking & update you if I find them. Thanks so much for commenting. Greetings from Ohio, USA. Please stay safe. My best, Moppet

  • @MyMoppet52

Thank you, id appreciate it. No worries though.

To bad they arent in the sondtrack (weird)

My doors open any time, ty and God bless.

  • @MyMoppet52 I think the walz is called moonlight on the water

  • @vikkristian Thank you for the info on the waltz. I passed it along to the person who asked & also added it to the uploader notes. I credited you. I am sorry this reply took so long. Your comment got lost and I appreciate each comment very much!!! My best to you, Moppet

  • @xNAJAFx ....one of them is Miss Mcleod's reel which is on the Ride with the Devil soundtrack.

  • @BradBrassman

Ty. I appreciate it. I belive it is the last melodie in the wedding.

The Long Riders (1980) Part 3 ( in youtube) 03:47.

The second melodie is also very good i, when Ed Miller and Beth starts to dance.

cant find anyone in youtube playi8ng it as good as in the movie though, with the spoons and all.

  • @xNAJAFx Yep, that's definately Miss Macleods Reel from 03.40 onwards.

There is a really good version of it if you put (below) into your YouTube search bar.

Miss Macleods Reel by Jeff Anderson, fiddle

  • @xNAJAFx The last of the two is a traditional song called Mrs McLeod's Reel, also sometimes known as Queen Anne's Reel. Don't know the other, I'm afraid.

  • @xNAJAFx I know several people have answered you about the songs. I did find the second song (possibly) from another listener. He didn't address it to you, so I am just sending it all: several members identified the second tune from 3:40 on as 'Miss Macleods Reel' which is also known as 'Queen Anne's Reel'.Thanks especially to josiahscurlock and BradBrassman. I was also told there was a waltz called 'Moonlight on the Water thanks to vikkristian. I am believe them to be correct. Thanks

  • @MyMoppet52

    Hi

Second tune on witch track ? Seneca is only 2 minutes long.

In "long riders part 2" 11:30, here on youtube, Ed Miller and Beth start to dance.

This melody is very good and i think its a shame that it aint in the soundtrack.

    God Bless.

  • An awesome movie complete with a phenomenal soundtrack!

  • @eapiano87 You are so right! Thanks for stopping by to listen. Your comment is greatly appreciated. My best, Moppet (Barbara)

  • can someone find me the "jack of diamonds"song ry

cooder sang in the movie? I think its a great song ,but I've yet to find it

  • @wesleycole82 Hello. I've just sent you some info. I can't get it on for whatever reason "The Powers That Be" at utube have chosen. Perhaps because I don't have a huge viewing audience. Perhaps because I always spell utube wrong. Anyway, look for a note from me. My best, Barb

  • @wesleycole82 I still can't get Ry's Jack of Diamonds. You might want to check out Tim O'Briens 'Jack of Diamonds - The Drunkards Hiccups' from Songs from the Mountain. If I have sent you this already, please forgive me. Moppet

  • Loved the movie. Loved the Soundtrack.

  • @feldgendarmerie You've got great taste! Thank you so much for stopping by and listening AND saying "hi". It is appreciated greatly! Moppet (Barbara)
