When they started out mainstream was all disco/glam and arena rock with 15 minute long songs , 5 minute guitar solos and/or gimmicky shit like pyrotechnic shows, make-up, etc

They didn't give two shits about getting rich or writing groundbreaking music, they just wanted to do their own thing and have fun, which they did for 30+ years.
