  • Here are a few quotes from George Washington showing the statements by some on here are incorrect.

I am sure that never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a Divine interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and I should be pained to believe that they have forgotten that agency, which was so often manifested during our Revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God who is alone able to protect them.

  • @Hefferman1

I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you, and the State over which you preside, in his holy protection,

The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army.

  • @Hefferman1

It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.

The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained

Does that sound like a diest view of God, where God is not interacting with world events?

    I don't think so.

  • How in the world can this man call America the single most successful gov of all time? We are a little over 200 years old and in serious trouble. The British empire lasted longer, the Romans, Greece...

The only real things in our country that come from the bible are things that are common sense and predate the bible anyway. What a bunch of nonsense.

  • @christo930

Serious trouble? You have no sense of history. Look back at things like the GREAT depression, the civil war, WW1 and WW2. An economic hiccup does not equate to serious trouble.

Things from the bible that predate the bible? You sure do know what you're talking about hu?

  • @alfimon We don't have an "economic hiccup" and even if everything were perfect, we still are not the most successful of all time. America's problems, indeed, the world's problems are so serious and so bad, that it's difficult to exaggerate them. Massive debt at every level of society, resource depletion, dead zones in the ocean, global warming, water shortages, peak oil is here, peak gas is very close and peak coal is maybe 30 years away all with exponentially increasing population.

  • @christo930 Dude you're learning all this BS from your Socialist Teachers, how bout doing your own research and REALLY learning a few things instead of the crap that now occupies your brain.

  • @doubleplayman LOL! Well said! The US might seem like it's in trouble, but if the sh*t hits the fan, look out yal! We rule the skys and the seas. No other country can say that. We therefore rule the world. I'm not scared. Bring it on Russia, China, Iran, WHAT!

  • @doubleplayman Global oil discovery peaked in the 1960's and has decreased every single decade since. Oil shot all the way to $147 bl and even that price was unable to increase oil production. In 1958 M King Hubbert warned the US that oil production would peak around 1970 and nobody took him seriously, guess what happened in 1970? Oil production peaked and despite Alaska, the gulp, off shore and nearly 1 million holes drilled, oil production has been falling in the US ever since. World's turn!

  • Bad picture but very important to know the true history of our great country. Thanks for posting.

  • Washington's voluminous writings contain exactly one explicit reference to Jesus - one. So does posting that single quote somehow prove Washington was hooked on Jesus? I don't think so.

  • Of course, Jefferson (and several primary founders) is a deist and believed in Natures God, not the God of Jesus. Our Christian-Nation people in Texas think it is more effective to remove Jefferson from history than be honest about the founding.

  • The Founders were nominally Christian, but philosophically most did not believe in a personal god who intervenes in the world, but rather the god of Nature, whose principles can be understood through reason. They well understood the tyranny that results when one religion seeks to dominate a nation.

  • Thomas Jefferson was not a Christian, He despised the fundamentalist Christians who were obsessed with the supernatural and paid little attention to the morals of Jesus. Sounds like the prosperity Christian ministry of today.

  • Again . a parrot spreading outright LIES

  • Another parrot spreading more LIES

  • @kressink Many of the founding fathers were not christians many were deists but the christians always turn this crap around and add it into there programs

  • @C0mm0nS3ns3 ...and you learned this from WHERE?

  • "..learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ" George Washington June 12, 1779 in a speech to the Delaware indians. Writings of Geo. Washington vol. 15 pg. 55

  • George Washington was not a christian.

  • By his own words he is a devout Christain.
