  • ...Aya Brea... Lightning... Aya Brea... Lightning... Fuck. Can't choose

  • @Tr3s3ntos How about Aya Brea and Lightning at the same time?

  • That Aya Brea pic is the best piece of squaresoft artwork ever.

  • Parasite Eve.. one of the most epic OPENING songs of all these lists!

  • ...I learned alot about various aspects of biology because of this game via looking up terms after I completed it xD

Now I've gotton extreemly high grades from my coursework..

  • Wikipedia'd the plot. Learned about Endosymbiotic theory. Mind = blown.

  • what does the chorus says?? it sounds like a gregorian singing

  • So wait, this is the "normal" battle theme? Not even a boss or anything? If so then god DAMN this is the best battle music ever.

  • @GEISTCAKE No, this is not the ''normal'' battle theme. This is the last boss' theme.

  • one of THE BEST games I've ever played.Throw FF,Resident evil and a little bit of Silent Hill and you will get - Parasite Eve... *goes searching for the game and emulator*

  • Epic, too bad 3th Birthday has not the same epic tracks like this. :/

  • I love when it starts really at 2:25 epic boss for epic music. And when you think it's over you just have to run very fast after ^^

  • @XxBeatexX gotta love that cyber organ:)

  • Damn Aya is cute (Tetsuya Nomura sure knows how to make girls cute).

At first i was like ''YEAH take that Eve'' and then the ultimate bieng appears and i was like ''eeeeewwwwwww... that's the ugliest baby i ever saw in my life'' that thing was creepy... every time i killed that thing, it rised again and again until it becomed Quetzacoal XD... that boss was a little hard.

  • How eerie. I like it!

  • This game is a masterpiece, But The 3rD Birthdai is a fucking action game, no strategy, no emotions, just shoot shoot kill kill

  • @carmineSaint You don't played this game if you think this game don't have no strategy, no emotions.=_=

  • @carmineSaint I don't think that's fair at all. There's still something very strategic about the overdive and keeping your whole squad alive while fighting everything off. It's still strategic, it's just more fast-paced than what you're used to in the series.

  • @Gr8gabe I would have loved the 3rd Birthday if they didn't make it into a sequel for Parasite Eve. It had none of the soul that PE had... It would have been a great game on it's own, a new franchise or something, but I didn't think it was PE material.

  • @Sateru99 I suppose. Times are changing though. It's fine to appreciate the old, I do it all the time and I'm sure everybody here does that too. But I think the new can be nice too.

  • @Gr8gabe True... XP I dunno, they could have stuck with the horror theme a little more. I mean, it's one thing to say that change is good, but this was way too big of a change. DX I dunno, the plot-twist in particular struck a sour note for me. I'm not going to spoil anything, but that alone just really felt like a let-down. XP I still think that The 3rd Birthday would have made a much better game separate from the PE series. It's just my opinion though, so... yeah.

  • P.E Ftw!

  • This is surely one of the most OMINOUS, among the epic, fitting in with Dancing mad and One Winged Angel, I love the way it builds up and explodes at 2:26

  • this is good

  • every time I here this I want to kick that baby

  • I like the way the composer made predator beats with a piano.

  • 3rd birthday & aya brea in dissidia! lol

  • Motel Scene FTW!!! <3

  • The Tower when you try the EX mode is one hell of a deal, but when you level up at 70 (Not sure), leveling up is very easy cause it takes less EXP.

  • I can't wait for the next PE game, which I think is going to be on the psp. PE2 was boring, and little to no story, PE1 is where it's at.

  • When i was a kid this game really creeps me out. i'm shivers XD

  • @andretatontos I am 19 right now and it STILL freaks me out. I already know what to expect and it adds on to the supsense. Especially in the the end with that monster chasing you and that ultra-suspenseful music that plays........creepy.

  • @VayneDognier Still scary XD

  • When I was 13, I thought EVE was creepy enough (Day 5, museum), but the Ultimate Being, that thing was something else...

  • It's actually rather nice that the composer of this game went on to become the composer of Kingdom Hearts 1 + 2. Also, nice picture of Aya, she looked the best in this game IMO.

  • the ultimate life form in that game was so fucking weird

  • AH i fucking love when it transitions into the adult form's theme at 2:37, going from creepy as shit to trippy/epic. i wish i hadn't lost this game after i beat it the first time, i never got to go through and do the chrysler building. D:

  • @whackadoodlydoo then you need to find that fucking game its epic as hell

  • See see? Yum yummy :D Sounds more appropriate XD

  • See see? Yum yummy :D

  • sieg sieg, yum yum..... yum yum..... sieg sieg, yum yum

  • This is probably one of my all time favorite rpg boss themes but what made it particularly memorable to me was that the track would evolve and change with each stage of growth the ultimate being underwent.

  • You're foolish, the second one in no way compared to the first..the second one blew big time!!!

  • @KingBlu04 dude, the story revolved around robots living in an underground pyramid growing monsters, what is not to love!?

  • I don't know why, but I happened to enjoy the second game more... I don't know what it was.

  • I totally forgot this game exited. Sadly I never finished it.

  • I love that the composer is a girl.....the main battle theme for this game screams out WOMAN lol, and is great....

  • My fav role playin game! very underated for a rpg. Not even sure if ppl remember or THINK this is a rpg lol. My fav theme here. Freaky, but a pumped up song for me :)

  • Man i remember when i bought this game back in the day. I had no idea what it was, because magazines were too expensive and the web didn't have all those fancy review sites like we did now. The cover grabbed me and i bought it and then i played it, and it BLEW my MIND! No-one had done RPG quite like that before. This was revolutionary to me then + Metal Gear Solid : D

  • i love the picture...and the song also! :p

  • thant good EVE baby

  • There was a PE 2? (Its like rape to me, to horrifying to accept)

  • @HotChicksMan In fact, yes there was... sadly. Why do you think the next one's going to be called The "THIRD" Birthday? XD

  • Can't wait for 3rd birthday

  • @HotChicksMan One can only hope it's as good as the original Parasite Eve >.>

I'm sorry, but I didn't much like PE2... they tried too hard to be like Resident Evil *sweeps the poor thing under the carpet*

  • @swytchblayd

awe, well i will agree the first parasite eve was phenomenal (that goes without saying), i actually thought the second one was halfway decent. but only HALFWAY. btw, im actually very new to the PE series. i got into them about 2 months ago. can anyone explain the ending of the first PE to me? why did everyones eyes glow red? plzz dont hate me cause im a newb to this :/

  • @jpd2009RV My guess would be either that it was an idea for the next game that never got used... or someone screwed up and didn't do the animations right or something >.>

And yeah... PE2 was decent enough to call a game. Just that the battles were annoying as hell, the character development was stupid, and nothing really made it stand out much at all... except for that man-faced-horse-thing, which I'm STILL having nightmares about, despite having beaten that damn game years ago @____@

  • @swytchblayd

i see... well either of those explanations are better than the one i had for the ending haha and actually, playing through the second PE just last weekend, ill agree with the crappy character development and the generic gameplay. even though the combat was real-time-ish, it still didnt feel as adictive as the first PE. btw where the eff was daniel in the second PE?

  • @jpd2009RV Pretty much the entire cast changed for the second game, minus Aya. My guess (and this is pure speculative): he stayed back in NYC :\

Yeah... sometimes one has to wonder what they were thinking while bringing the second game out >.< It just didn't have the same level of badass that the first one did, at all :\

  • @swytchblayd

yeah i can totally agree with you on that bud. also, i just started the chrysler tower in the first PE. are there any save points??

  • I think this track is amazing. It gives a very creepy feeling. (: I've never played the game, I almost brought it but I brought Vagrant Story instead. I love Square Soft's games, they were amazing, along with the Final Fantasy series. Now the games aren't as great as they used to be now they're with Enix. It's sad. :C

  • @FF7Destiny

While I always prefered Enix over Square, I do agree that games since their merge haven't been up to par. I figured that with the best of Square's talent working with the best of Enix's talent would create the best RPGs ever. In my opinion, Square Enix needs to stop holding themselves back. I bet they would create a beast of a new RPG if they did so.

  • @laughingfurry - I bet so too. Plus I think they need to make something new, as much as I love Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, they're making too many spin-offs all at once when they could be making something new.

  • @FF7Destiny

True. Nothing wrong with those games, but having so many spinoffs are unnecessary. It's not just KH and FF, but also Dragon Quest. They can make other games. It's like SEGA, great RPG potential, but too much work on it's "flagship series".

  • @FF7Destiny - I agree very much. I think they're just trying to please the fans considering they get asked way to much, especially when it comes to an Final Fantasy VII remake. I think Kingdom Hearts is being milked a little too much, I think the story line has got a bit strayed. I mean it was mainly about them getting home, they got home in the Sequel.

  • you can tell which composer it was when listening to it. especially at 4:00 is when i googled kingdom hearts composer and saw it was the same woman.

  • @eth0991 meant around 3:00

  • U.B. is perhaps the creepiest boss in history simply because of the chase scene at the end. Oh god.

  • It takes some time before it really kicks off, but this is a really good battle theme. I love Parasite Eve, couldn't really get into the second one though.

  • An unforgettable game, to bad that PE2 was a copy (in some terms) and PE3... ¬¬

But this game it will be in memories of all that we play it like FF7

  • 2:36 is where this song becomes amazing.

  • Final Boss of Parasite eve

  • I love this game and I regret getting rid of it years ago. I'm looking forward to it coming out on the PSN along with Part 2 which I never owned only rented.

  • urghh??? i dont know there is pe3... in which console??? ps2 or ps1???

  • Psp, its called parasite eve: the third birthday if i remember correctly. Haven't gotten out.

  • Comment removed

  • can someone tell me whos that chick? i dont think its aya...hair too long o.o

  • It -is- Aya.

  • but on what game? i never seen her having that hair so long. not even in PE1 which it has the longest hair between the 3 games i know so far.

  • It's most likely fan art from PE1. I've seen it floating around on the net for years. I don't have a copy of the game anymore, was this image in the instruction booklet?

  • i found some artwork and it looks similar to this so i guess this is real.still the hair is kind of longer than it seems in the game o.o the hair only reaches more or less to her neck,i guess thats why i found this one weird.

  • Yeah, SE's artwork is usually not even close to ingame work. I'm surprised it's that close to it in PE.

  • it is aya cept its a pic from the first game in the first game she had longer hair then in the second

  • Here comes that BABY!!!!!!!!!

You gotta admit that Ultimate Being was creepy.

  • @Zadok83 It was just born and grew up in just a few minutes.

  • @Zadok83 Everything about this game was creepy. I love it. :D

  • @Zadok83 That green slimy thing?! I was creeped the hell out as a kid fighting that.

  • @Zadok83 agreed.

  • @Zadok83 It sure was! =)

  • @Zadok83 Highly creepy. Also, a fucking bastard. It has FOUR FORMS. Dammit.

  • I had this game a long time ago and I loved it, I'd also like to see another sequel on the PS3

PS3 PE3? and If square ever releases the original on the PSN I'll be getting it no question. Maybe even the second game if that ever happens. I miss Aya Brea and I've wanted a PSP for a while now. If 3rd Birthday is any good that might just be the point that I get one.

  • I just wish Square would spend the time to make a true sequel to this game for PS3...I don't think 3rd birthday will hold up to the name Parasite Eve as well as it should. I want to see Aya Brea kicking more mutant ass on the PS3!

  • Everybody wants to see =D

  • I wonder if there will be more powers.

Maybe we might get Liberate again.

  • I Hear That!

  • lets just hope theyre not making a failed copy of resident evil, although a "survival horror rpg" sounds nice.

  • I Wanted to play this game, again, so much!!!!! Aya Brea is one of my favorites female RPG's characters..... But im actually working and studying, i have no time :S

  • its just a 15 hours game...dont take so hard

  • That's cuz im actually thinking about playing again my favorite game...Xenogears...isn't easy play 2 games at once...at least, i don't like...

  • I always cleared a battle before those awesome arpeggios hit. Had no idea those were in there!!

  • I'm very surprised to see that Yoko Shimomura created this. I'm used to his work in Kingdom Hearts!

  • Yoko Shimomura is a woman.

  • This game is awsome i just recently beat it and im trying to get a hold of the second one

  • I have the second one and I lost the first one xS!!! I even got to the Chrysler Building and started working my way to the top but got owned on the 39th floor. Have to get that game back!

  • I remember hearing about this game when it came out, but I was too young to play it back then. Now that I'm older, I really want to try this game out.

  • Please do, Parasite Eve 1&2 are the best square enix's games ever create( along with the Kingdom Hearts series). Really great music and environments all in 2 AWESOME games.

  • Parasite Eve 1~2 were not made by Square-Enix, but made by Squaresoft. Squaresoft made all those beloved classics. Square-Enix have not made anything worth playing. (Counting KH)

  • I don't usually sign in my youtube account but had to when I saw your comment lol. I fully agree with you. It was square that made all the good games. Ever since the merger with Enix their games have really suffered.

  • Okay, Thanks for correcting on my error on square's name. But come 1 the best final fantasy was Final Fantasy X-2. And KH series are awesome too. The music on these games are great. So is anyone excited about the new PE game?

  • FF X-2? the best? are you kidding?

it was the worst FF of all times. even FF XII was better than FF X-2

sorry mate but ur comment so fails

  • he's saying in general...don't blame him...in PSX Square really was good...it's falling with the time and more advanced consoles...I wanted that SE just make games for NDS and PSP games =D

  • You bet. I can't wait for it to come out, but I don't think Eve is going to be in 3. Just Aya, but thats ok.

  • Something tells me that you're wrong...but this is a good thing huh?=D

  • Yeah, Squaresoft made the best rpgs, my fav being Xenogears. The battle system made me want to have encounters rather then fleeing for my life like other RPGs.

  • The first Kingdom Hearts was actually made and published before the merger.

  • I adored this Video Game<3 It's the reson I have a certain love of biology

  • ahhhh this game used to give me nightmares way back in the day. love it.

  • oh man! i miss this game!

  • The beginning of this song sort of reminds me of the 3rd movement of the Shostakovich violin concerto

  • this game waas amazing. such a unique battle system

  • This is my favorite song on the soundtrack, the battle did a good job with the music too. Each time you killed that phase of the Ultimate Being, the song goes to the next phase with the boss. Once it gets to the hardest part it plays 2:38 it goes to the best part of the song. It is a very epic theme for a very epic battle.

  • You summed it up exactly how I remember! I love this theme and esp the standard enemy fight theme.

  • this game was hard 1st time i played it, but its easy once get hang of it, story line was pretty damn good, battle systems was about average or so, but that's what i think, last boss was a bit of a pain if i remember right, been so long scene played this

  • My god that chase through the ship with the final boss chasing after you. . .and the camera angles,THE CAMERA ANGLES

    *Chills*

  • What's the name of this beautiful track?

  • U.B. (Stands for Ultimate Being, which is what you are fighting at this point)

  • Parasite Eve was one of so many RPGs flying around at the time- I remember being young and me and friends would argue over who would buy what RPG, or ask for games for our birthdays, to swap collections. There was like four of us kids and I remember around 1999 when no two of us were buying the same game and still couldn't play 'em all.

More on topic, though, this track and this fight were both incredible :)

  • this girl looks beatiful o.o

  • and that's where Namine is based off.

  • aya brea is its name.

  • :) ~

  • Well, technically Aya is a she, but then again,

she is the only being who has Eve's mitochondria

and not mutate. Sides, you probably just did a simple spelling error there.

  • True that. Wow. I sounded so cliched there. :P

  • because they wasted their money on cash cow products like FF7 and KH :(

Personally I rather see Squeenixs Non FF series or any games that does not involves FF cameo characters, rather go for something original like

Xenogears, threads of fate, choron trigger *sigh*

  • We all would however unless Square agrees to sell the rates of those games away, there is no likelihood we will ever see remakes or sequels of truly deserving games.

  • I liked FF7 but...it is being played and displayed way to much these days. I too would love Squeenixs put these games back up..

  • That's cause Parasite Eve was created by Squaresoft ( yes, before the merger ).

  • Okay. Just put my old comment as spam already.

    ):_(

  • D

    id that already.

  • hoy, at least be happy i added it to a playlist of awesomeness

  • But, knowing my luck, a lot of people will hate the playlist I added it to.

  • Poor me.

  • To this day that damn baby scares the shit out of me.

This game was so awesome of so many levels. Back when I was 12 I was scared as shit to play it by myself. I'm still pissed that the dog had to get all messed up too. I liked that dog.

This song is everything that is Parasite Eve.

  • omg i remember this game... i still have it but as faith would have it the disk is scratched...

  • This tune made me dizzy.

  • AWESOME!

  • I used to have the biggest crush on the girl in this game but didn't have a playstation to actually try the game out. That picture is badass though :)

  • A very innovative game for its time.

  • shoulda used femme fatal imo

  • The third part of this song is just epic

  • Perfect!!! and playing alone in the dark in my room

  • the video is the best

  • la image is.....good...awesome mmm

  • My brother told me I should try this game. I might, if it isn't too scary. Is it good?

  • yes! it is rather short but if you have an emulator you should try it you will be very entertained for a week or so.

  • Emulators won't do this game justice! Get a nice sized SDTV and an original playstation..best way to experience this amazing game. I'm glad I still have my original playstation...there were just so many classic games that came out during that era that I love replaying. Just goes to show that graphics don't mean jack ****...to bad companies nowadays focus more on graphics than good gameplay

  • all they care about is big breasts, tall skinny guys to make fan girls jealous and fan boys turn anorexic because they want to be like them, and then they soop it up with awesome graphics to compensate for a shit story becasue they put all their money and time on the scenery. Plus the weapons are getting ridiculous and everything is so stereotypical. why cant the hero be a short kid or a kid with BLACK hair and why do the girls just flock to him? cant they be the ones to be distant instead?

  • That was something I liked about Xenosaga Episode I: The main character is a geeky girl with no real special talents (that the player knows about) outside of her crazy intelligence. I hated how they tried to make her all sexy in the second game. Kos-Mos is supposed to be the drool inducing female character, not Shion.

Also, the hero in Disgaea is a short kid with black hair. Laharl is amazing.

  • typica, thats pretty much what they did to star wars. In the beginning, luke had a short and skinny action figure, and as it got mainstream and popular, the luke action figure became big, buff, ripped, and actually had different colored clothes then he should have in the movie. I'm not saying that life can't be cool, but can't games be realistic and give credit where credit is due?

I agree with what you are saying RichardMV. I want to play disgea now.

  • A similar thing happened to Ethen and Rosa in Codemned.

They where normal looking people in part 1 but turned utterly stereotype in 2.

  • Are you saying all games of this Console Genre are Stereotypically like how you described? Thats kind of Over generalization of the Genre many other male protagonists are quite muscular and i am not so sure about female protagonists but don,t over generalize. As for me I have never played this game.

  • well, yes, actually. The companies always try to perfect the characters into an ideal beyond an ideal. More like an Idol. Whether it is making the male character skinny and pretty or tall and muscular and handsome, the characters are pretty stereotyped, more or less. However, I love these games, I am stating a fact so ha maybe in the future, people will learn from these mistakes.

  • Ok hehe well would you want to play a game with a big Fat out of shape guy unless it was a Comedy game.....or if it were like a game like the Hobbits or Dragon warriors where you"re either a Hobbit or in DW a Kid with a little Chinchilla ferret guy but ya hehe i getcha

  • I liked Aya. Despite her 'mature woman' stereotype, she was a well rounded character. She wasn't a mary-sue, and she was enjoyable to play as. Atleast she wasn't a helpless priss like most female video game characters. Aya defended herself, and she kicked ass; she didn't need some male character to swoop in and save her, in a situation she's able to save herself in~
