I feel confident to say that this mode of play is not going to be in the actual story mode.

The first reason is that there is a meter to indicate the number of henchman you've knocked out, and another meter is there to record your score.

Additionally, if you notice in the beginning of this combat mode of game play it says "Round 4".

This mode seems like a survival mode game play style. Check out the Predator Demo video for this game, it gives a better simulation of the story mode.

Well, God of War 2 is a button masher, and it's still a fun game. But Batman definitely is not a button masher, even in the gameplay shown in this video. In a developer interview the guys from Eidos said that this game is all about timing and countering your attacks.

In short, if you button mash, you're probably going to get stabbed or shanked or whatever.
