He may well have written that - though I note that Randall Johnson gives no citation of any text or document in which these alleged statements may be verified, which does lead me to doubt their veracity - but if he did, he was wrong. The Greek language is Indo-European, as are their gods, whilst sculpture is a universal art form and was certainly practiced by the Greeks prior to contact with Egypt.

If it were true, I couldn't care less, but it's not true. He performed surgery on the sac around the heard, not the heart itself, and even then wasn't the first. Open heart surgery was first done in 1952 in the US, then in 1953 in the Soviet Union.
