i was a little bit disappointed of the fight, it simply was too easy... had kaidan and liara in my team and toghether with my own lift spell, he was lifted the whole fight. he didnt have a chance to fire a single shot :/ (insane difficulty)

I have Mass Effect 2, and I'm waiting for 3 to come out, but....I got stuck when fighting soverigen. I beat Saren, but soverign never stays still. O.O

Does anyone have a stragedy, or specific armour/weapons to use?

I had to wait for my weapon to cool off, after over-heating and that cost me precious time? Any upgrades in Mass Effect 1, I should be aware of? Besides Soverign jumping like a jack rabbit, I had no trouble with the ME 1. <3

So quick recap on how to destroy a Reaper

1. Have a fleet the size of the Alliance attack it while it's sitting somewhere and blasting away at the fleet while barely feeling a thing

2. Get it to fully posses a dead corpse while it's attacking the giant fleet

3. Kill the corpse making causing the Reaper to lose its power and shields so it becomes a sitting duck

4. Get the fleet to "hit it with everything we got"

And that's just for 1 Reaper...

... Mass Effect 3 is going to be oh so joyous...

I just use a mix of Assault Rifle and Pistol with, Phasic rounds? I believe thats what they are called, the ones that bypass shields by like 50 or so percent at later levels (or more, been a while since I played it, been playing ME2)

Sovereign did an 'assuming control' number on Saren's corpse in a last ditch attempt to seize back control of the Citadel and open its relay. When Shep blasted Saren's body beyond repair, those brief moments where Sovereign's conciousness were in the crumbling remains were enough of a shock/whatever you want to call it to cause him to drop his shields and give the Alliance fleet just enough time to tear him a new one before he could raise them again.

@atthetoast I think its because sovereign was connected to saren in a strange way and when saren was killed its could of caused soverign to temporarly lose control

@atthetoast This is actually an interesting question and I've read several of the answers people have given. I interpreted it slightly differently: I assumed that the reason Soverign was taking on the entire Arcturus fleet and winning was that he(it) was leeching power from the Citadel through Saren. By drawing on the Citadel's power core, Soverign had unlimited power for shields. Killing the Saren-puppet broke Soverign's connection to the citadel and made it vulnerable.

@dark7element I just imagined that Sovereign had a significant portion of his mind in Saren during that fight. When Saren was killed, that destroyed that portion of Sovereign's mind, leaving the rest of him in disarray, making him "easy" pickings for the Alliance and the Citadel fleet.

That's also probably the reason Harbinger released control of the Collector General just before the Collector Base was destroyed in ME2.

Have any of you people that claim he is using mods even played this game? Have you never seen upgrades? On most of my weapons (level X Spectre gear)... I put Frictionless Materials and Kinetic Coils... with that, no matter what ammo I use (incindiary mostly)... my guns have perfect accuracy and never overheat... I could stand there with my Assault Rifle shooting forever... the heat bar never raises... maybe you should investigate before you start bashing someone for something they didn't do...

at this boss I got the hilarious bug that when a gun overheats it never cools down... Ended up overheating all of my gear and finally the only thing I could do was run up the him and punch!

Only mod I'm using is the official Bring Down the Sky.

i put double frictionless materials X on m spectre shotgun PLUS polonium rounds, kills a geth in one shot if ur close enough

@ElRoahh Actually if you use the highest level cooling system for your pistol and nothing that increases heat then your gun will never overheat.
