Question. When u used your mouse did you move around with the mouse with your left hand while flying with the stick in your right hand or did u only use your right hand and quickly switch in between?

Thanks for the comments, guys! Just some additional information, this was a COOP game recorded in version 1.011, Dogfight mode was still in beta testing at that time and we did not have a dedicated server back then!

The Nieuport 17 is earmarked for an FM revision and I am sure the future will hold even more epic dogfights :)

I will try to post a new video when it's out but I can't make any promises.

Les Hellequins ! My favorite server! Haven't seen the early war planes yet, however and I've been in there for months. I go by Ody in ROF.

I was actually using my mouse to look around back then, I have switched to Freetrack since then however.

I must say I'm impressed how well you fared against two foes on your tail. Too bad you had no friendlies around. I think I'll hit the skies with my '17 too, or the '11.

tehimp, you make a good video. I'd like to watch more. May I request a video where you are in the pit in a dogfight using Freetrack? I was used to using TrackIR with a locked pit in IL2, and found it very immersive and exhilarating to try to keep up with a bandit. The smooth tracking helped out quite a bit, and made a kill all the sweeter, and the flying less frustrating than using a hat swtich.

I am using Freetrack as of last wednesday but I was not when I recorded that fight, I was using my mouse there. I have always been using my mouse to look around in il2 which I played thousands of hours online but with these planes and their upper wing and all the struts and having 6DOF in the game having track IR or freetrack helps quite a bit with visibility, not just in reducing your work load.

tell me, are you learning french? after all you are playing in a french squadron "les hellequins".

I am currently learning german. Simply because learning another language helps you in many situations. Not only in tourism. I learned french.

we are actually an international squadron, we have members from almost everywhere in western and central europe. You can find out more about us, and the reason for our name, on our homepage.

We are also not enemies since we hellequins fly on all sides and with all planes to get the most enjoyment and diversity out of this brilliant game.

I have learned both english and french in school, I am actually german. Regarding the length I might have been understating it :D

They were also flying the other planes :)

The other two N17s were taken out by the Alb that joins the fight later, the other Spad and one Alb took each other out so it was just me in the end.
