  • haha... do they?

  • That is awesome, great story and great animation.

  • dude your stuff is just as good as Knox's...why less views? dang it youtube

  • NOOOO

  • The video was truly amazing.

  • that was great! five stars!

  • Did I see a ghost of the hero?

  • yea, i saw that too

  • what? were? what time?

  • Good eyes!

  • it was at 3:47 pretty neat and spooky...lol

  • I have watched this plenty of times, but just noticed now that it is very sad. I loved it.

  • you have to win a lot of award for these films.

  • does that guy have 3 legs

  • great video!!

  • I've been checking out quite a bit of your work today. Great stuff. I really like your camera work and the smoothness of the animation. What program do you use to compile the images? I taught claymation to my 5th grade art classes this year and used iMovie. Do you know of anything better?

  • Thank you! I animate with a free program called Monkeyjam. It works best for me, but if iMovie works alright then I don't think it's neccesary to switch. Whatever the students understand best should be good!

  • This is the work of a god. the onlyother people as good as you are mamshmam and knox (spelling)

  • Mamshmam is awesome, but knox hardly does anything. All you see realy are arm's moving. He has yet to prove any really good animating.

  • ya but its just so dang smooth ya know and he is pretty funny sometimes but this guy and mammshmam are amazing

  • that seems so hard and i bet it is good job

  • amazing master!!!! what clay you use

  • The hero's mask and the green invaders were Sculpey III clay, and the rest of the characters were actually just some cheap brand modeling clay I got. "Plasticina" maybe? I usually use Van Aken modeling clay, but this other kind worked here.

  • dude your vids should have like a million views each. there all sooo good im just speechless right now. great job dude keep it up =]

  • Thanks! Keep enjoying them and I'll keep making them!

  • Maybe one day I'll be able to make stop motion as awesome as this. Good job! The animation is amazingly smooth!

  • this could be one of those short stories they sometimes have on nickelodeon (inbetween the normal shows)

  • Thanks! Yeah, that'd be awesome.

  • Love it!

  • Thank you!

  • that was amazing!

    Good job!

I like at the end how his ghost was there.

  • Thank you, glad you like it.

  • you'd videos are AMAZING. That video makes me want cry. You are truly talented.

  • the masked man died a true hero.........cool vid

  • wow 3:49 look to the bottom left corner

  • did you guys see the dudes ghost at he end? creepy

  • aw, that almost made me feel like crying.

  • did anyone else notice the ghost at 3:42 ?

  • gj man

  • hey mackenzie why dont u make a invasive species 2 im just givin idea it would be cool because mostly everybody loves this video u made and in 2nd one if u think my idea is good make him comeback to life and fight the last boss and just to make it cool make the last boss his long last identical twin oh and this is for that contest kk just idea i dont want to tak some months just to make some vid

  • the videos you make are soo

cool i just have a question you know how clay mation is

all about stop motion and stuff but how do you get things to

be in he air like if you carachter is throughing sometihing like on 0:29 he throughs that green animal and its in the middle of the air but i cant see your fingers

do you use a string or a wire to do that

but even still on your oger video when he spits out the cookie you still cant see enything thats holding it up

  • Thanks!

In your example, where he throws the green guy, it is never actually in the air, it is always touching something. If you pause it just right you can see, it's still sticking to the guys finger when it looks like it's in the air, and then next frame its touching the ground. Usually those are the tricks I do, just having it held up by something that's not noticeable, or something not on screen.

  • but I've seen mamshman make one of his claymen be in the air, you can see the whole thing. how does he do that? if you dont know what I mean go to his chanel and watch some videos of his

  • i think he uses stop motion pro wich has a feature where you can edit the frames so he could've used string and erased it in the pictures

  • hm........ I think your right!

  • do you do claymation?

  • yah, but I can never figure out how to put my video to stop motion

  • my video camera

  • Nice, Dan! Very fluid and smooth. I have a question, how did you get the heart/brain in the sludge monster at 2:28 to change colors on it's own? I can't tell if it was video FX, because if you did something like that it would affect the entire shot.

  • That was actually just 2 images, one normal an color, and one I photoshopped green, and I just faded one into the next which editing. Not too hard compared to some other shots :P

  • Ah! Now I see. Thanks!

  • Awesome! I met you at Dragon*Con 2008 along with some of the other animation guests. Very impressive work - keep it up!

  • Thanks man! Oh were you at the little Q and A we had? Nice! Thanks for commenting.

  • Another work of awesomeness from MackProductions.

  • very good VERY!!

  • Awesome! I make Claymations also!

  • So Did Spock, but you didnt hear him boasting

  • I wasn't talking to you. I was just making a point. Jesus

  • That was great. How many stills did you have to take?

  • hey at 3:50 is that the ghost of him at the left?

  • Yep, it's his spirit.

  • dude, as an animator myself, i think this is pretty great! Very original, i absolutly love it!

  • amazing!

  • Wonderful animation. He gave his life to save the others, and putting the mask upon his grave was an excellent way to honor his sacrifice.

  • Hey I recognise one of the creatures from Lethal Lens but he looks a lot smaller here. Is he smaller or is everything else bigger?

Anyway it's a great animation (as usual), thanks! I liked the way the grey 'poison' spread through the masked guy's body at the end. :(

  • Haha yeah, he's smaller. He's only like 2 inches in this animation, but in Lethal Lens he was about 6 or 7 inches.

    Thanks!

  • hey, this was great! how many pictures did you need for it and how long did it take you to make it?

  • That was an awesome video! The running through the woods came out great! Reminded me of the show "LOST". Amazing animation and great characters 5/5!

  • i like it, awsome animation and a great story too

  • brilliant :D

  • Great job Dan! Nice camera movements and positioning. The sound effects helped give character to the sludge-like monster. Any plans for a sequel?

  • Thanks Callum! Yeah accurate sounds add so much, you know that of course, yours always have sweet sounds to go with it. No sequel in mind yet, I've got all the clay guys still, but I think I'll leave it as is for now. Thanks for the review man.

  • man, that's extremely amazing!!!!!

  • Very entertaining! I agree, the camerawork is quite something in some scenes. And it's nice to see the combination of interesting plasticine creatures with a coherent story.

  • Amazing, you are a real inspiration

  • Ok you are officially AMAZING! they must of took months!

  • Absolutely incredible! great plot, great animation and the still frames (although a tad lazy) add a sense of drama to the end.

  • I really like the camera angles used, like at 1:34, a classy animation as usual congrats : )

  • awesome as usual..there is great meaning here

  • Intense! Excellent film making in all regards, making the absolute most of keeping it simple with great editing, direction and sound production. Bravo!

  • Thanks Ron! I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

  • Interesting animation style. I don't really understand the end photo-montage sequence, nonetheless, nice effort. Keep up the good work.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • That is amazing man! I love it, glad I subscribed!

If you want to watch something new from me, I am expecting to release a new animation in the next 3-4 days.

  • the still frames do kind of bring it down i agree. But it only went down from super super super amazing to super super amazing.AWESOME!!!!

  • Awesome, man!

the still frames are a strange touch though. I don't like that, it seems lazy.

But you're still awesome at this. I love the expressions of the creatures. =D

  • this animation is amazing. i especially enjoyed it from an aesthetic level. the sounds and the movement were all perfect!

  • Thats the best youve ever done! Icant wait to see the next one!

  • WOW! Amazing! Do you use stop motion pro?

  • Kurdice did a noice job on the fx and the big green dude scene is way more awesome now! also, what fabian commented haha =D you're the super best!

  • kinda sad at end... amyways i loved it! i faved!=)

  • where did you get all the props and flooring?

  • the props are fake plants you can get them at any craft stores i think the floor is sand paper

  • Amazing film. One of your bests. :) I've loved all your work so far, and this one just proves how consistently amazing of an animator you are. Keep up the great hard work, and you'll be known around the world in no time. Favourited!

  • Thank you! I really appreciate it.

  • Dude this is practically proffessional standard, I may be 15 but I'm pretty sure that talent like yours is appreciated in the industry.

    Keep it up!!!

  • Nice, I love it!

  • that was some sick animation man =D

loved the little forest set u made, must of been hard animating around those leaves.

and the movement of the white dude was soo smoothly animated it really felt real and alive. good job man. wish i could make stuff as sick as this =]

  • absoloutely awesome, your best film yet in my opinion!

  • i making a war film dan, that was awesome as usuall by the way!

  • I highly enjoyed that!

I can only hope to be as good as you some day.

Amazing work, can't wait to see what you come up with next.

  • Nice...I like all the props you use. Do you just get some faux leaves from an arts and crafts store?

I like sticking with as much clay as possible, but that had a good balance :)

You'll like my new claymation. I am guessing as to how long it might take...probably the next two weeks...I don't know. You guys will love it. I am posting time lapse films almost daily of progress.

  • Thanks man. Yep, fake leaves from a craft store. Good luck with your next one!

  • nice one!

  • Hey thanks!

  • realy good storry, ähhh, Dan ;)

  • one of the best vlay animators on youtube by far! You inspire me with everything you do dan! well done!

  • Thank you Jordan, I really appreciate that.

  • nice job!! Your animating skills and camera work is really really good, but I am a bit disappointed about the plot, I mean in your films there is similar story, two characters fighting. I think you should think something better out to improve your films even more. Everything else was excellent.

  • Thanks! Yeah fighting is a very simple plot to add to a short, but with this there was more of a reason for it, because he wasn't fighting for himself, he was fighting on behalf of others. Still though, I do understand fighting is a common theme in some of my animations.

  • Awesome. One of the most moving YouTube claymations ever. Great job, once again Dan!

  • Glad you like it man, thank you!

  • that is one of your best videos yet! right next to lethal lens. 5/5 and favorited!

  • Nice, thank you!

  • My god... you have an incredible ability to inflict emotion. The last part actually made me pretty sad. And the parts with the leaves right next to the guy must have really sucked to animate, but you did it perfectly.

  • Haha why thank you! Yeah I had to be careful animating around the little leaves.

  • Outstanding!

  • Poor yellow guy. Nice.

  • amazing work! 5/5

  • Nice work Dan!

  • Awesome animation and an excellent story line.

    As always, great video.

Happy Holidays Dan, to you and yours.

    Peace.

  • truly unbelievable!!!!

  • loved it.
