  • Very smooth, just the right speed for enjoyment on a sunny Cali day on da 2.

  • go to the track you

  • go to the track you fucking noob death seeking fuck

  • Please remove this video ASAP. The CHP and media are using videos like this as ammunition to clamp down on the motorcycle community and particularly on Angeles Crest. Please remove it or change the name so it doesn't show up. I know you just wanted to share and don't mean any harm but if you've gone up angeles crest lately there is a cop on every corner and they reference videos of racing on youtube.

  • there is no place for dangerous riding on public streets and freeways, ever - under any circumstance. public freeways and streets always seem tho to be the place where riders get the attention, the adrenalin rush, the juice they want. once saw the coolest mc stunt ever, goin 70 on the 10 west, dude stood up on his seat - popped back down, waved goodbye and took off, he was fine, me and my homies were the ones almost having heart attacks, screaming, scared *h$Tless he might fall. never forget it

  • grow some ballz and remake this video

  • that's not racing , you guys arn't even pushing it hard at all , pushing it is where you stomp on the gas and fly around the turns and slam on the breaks before the curves thats just speeding and by the looks of it not even fast , just 2 whimps on bikes

  • This is racing on the ACH? I think the lead rider is actually leaning his head in the opposite direction of where it should be in the turns. Meaning, instead of leaning into the turns, past the handlebars closest to the road, he is level with the bike or worse, above the handlebars in a turn.

Hope you're not dead by now dude, if you're not, please don't ride the ACH when it opens back up in 2011 (at least while I am riding it).

  • I think my ears are bleeding.

  • HEY YOU NEED TO GET OFF 2ND GEAR POOR TRANY.....

  • @motorider2006

YOU HAVE FOUR MORE GEARS TO GO SHIFT!!! SHIFT!!! NOW!!!

  • @motorider2006 seriously... makes you wonder how new to riding this biker is. Should take it slower, match up his line, then figure out how he want's to throw the throttle in. Every time he lets off the throttle his whole bike lurches....

  • @motorider2006 Poor tranny? Holding it in 2nd gear has no effect on the trans...poor engine maybe...but it was meant to rev high..

With the exception of a few straights he had no reason to get up out of 2nd unless he planned on hitting a next turn faster and pass his friend..

  • @motorider2006 and go to the track

  • this is motorcycle racing??

  • feeling the wind on your face, the rpm's rising, racing with your friends in a hot sunny day.

You and the bike!! thats how great life can be

  • If you would shift a bit more, you would have way much more fun. Also try to trottle the gas half way the curve, not at the end, the bike will feel like it's not responding.

  • This is a public road not a Race Track WTF is wrong with you idiots?

  • i couldn't watch pass 1:33...too damn slow riding.

i've only been on this road twice, and my vid is way better than this.lol

peep my channel to enjoy some scenic roads and the howl of my 09' R1.

  • Mmmmm twisty......

  • Comment removed

  • instead of flat sand - vertical rocks !!! good luck

  • Exhilarating to any sport bike rider, but it's recklessness like this that gives us a bad name. And yeah, learn to shift, squidboy.

  • Good god man. Shift.

  • Yup, first thing i noticed is throttle control. It should be smooth in corners or you will learn the hard way.

  • speeding on regular roads is just dumb

  • wow man, work on that throttle control or that thing's going to kick you right off.

  • I can appreciate the high performance, but on mountain roads, it is very hazardous. It's not like track conditions, it's whatever conditions. A small rock falling off a ridge may look easy to dodge, but they often bring a ribbon of sand along to make the turn very slippery. I had a good friend crash on the way back down to Pasadena, and broke his hip. We were only 25, and thougt we had it under control. Wrong! Another friend, hit a deer, at around 70, in the hospital for 9 months. Slow down!!!!

  • horrible throttle control.

  • It's very possible to go much faster then this on ACH... it just wouldn't be wise... Especially when your only runoff is a side of a mountain or a fall off a cliff.

  • I like how the guy in front rides. smoooth, I was there this past weekend, all the way to wrightwood and palmdale back to valencia and then home to Van Nuys. greeeeaat day!!! Ride safe!!!

  • And why is the title saying MOTORCYCLE RACING? Who is racing?

  • @DaniMaycrest: don't choke there old man. Way to point out the obvious. If they knew about counter steering, they'd be taking different lines. You can tell they are just leaning in corners, chopping the throttle and hoping for the best. They are incapable of doing mid-turn corrections as you can see in the video. Now who's the Douche?

  • I hate how sometimes the comments don't show >.>

  • Just reading some of the comments. Why are so many negative? If you don't like the video, don't watch it. Thanks for putting the video up. And yes, please ride safe. Many bike riders have been in accidents or have friends who have been in accidents. It is a fine line, but it is all about living life.

  • Nice vid. Need to cut out to first 20 - 30 seconds. 2nd gear most of the time? 3rd would be a little smoother maybe, but to each their own. Friend is riding a cbr600, but what bike are you riding? Road looks nice.

  • @nathan79vn no, it has nothing to do with gear selection. It's all about the rider. Being in 2nd would allow them to power out harder.

  • your throttle control is terrible...it's just a matter of time before you lose the front end. That's a little too fast to be riding the Crest, you haven't left your self much margin for error (which you are making a lot of btw). You need to slow down...I have been riding up there for 16 years, most of the guys that ride faster than I do are no longer with us. You can still have fun riding at a pace that "bends" the speed limit.

  • @tonys3825 The problem is that so many people have the attitude that they're going to "attack" the road, or "conquer" it. Respect the road, or it will teach you a lesson. I don't go much above the posted speeds and I still get great leans through turns. Riding is about the grace of fluid motions, not how fast you can go from one place to another.

  • BAD ASS! I'm stuck in SoFla where everything is a grid. NO TWISTIES!!! Can you believe it? Anyhow. Looks fun and a bit dangerous.

"Danger gleams like sunshine to a brave man's eye." -Euripedes

  • Not my kind of thing to ride like that, but if they are enjoying there bikes good luck to them. All i say is probaly best to take it to the track. We are all bike lovers here with all different levels of skill. Ride safe.

  • you own them the beautiful streets in America! I would come to me one plays around with them from you ..

  • Pathetic. Don't post this garbage. also, don't hurt yourself doing 45!

  • I like how everybody judges and believe in them selves as a proGP riders haha, yes I saw those lines, throttle on-off and bla bla bla, we'all started somewhere and we were not at the skill level that we prop are but talking trash doesn't help us or them either, lets just watch!.

  • Hey heartlesspint, Don't get all bent outta shape dude, just breaking balls. I have love for people who have love for two wheels, regardless of their riding style. I was just pointing out your weaknesses so you can improve. And you are right, we all started as amateurs but most of us have thick skins and can take a criticism.

  • Great body positioning. I love it when squids put their heads over the right side of the bike when they're leaning the bike over to the left and vice versa. Crossed up riding at its best, y'all.

Go ahead and attract all the wrong attention and making the Chippies come get us responsible bikers. Idiots.

  • im no pro, but that guy's body position makes me cry

  • These guys usually stand at the Shell gas station in their Dainese suits and at least four inches of chicken strip on the tires and steering part from a vendor with "Ö" in their name. But you can spot novice riders in the first turn, consistently wrong lines, late lean, no counter steering whatsoever, on and off the throttle in every friggin' turn...Uggghh I'm gonna puke! I ride the Crest every weekend between March and December and smoke these types of riders ALL DAY EVERY DAY

  • Yeah well everybody starts somewhere. I'm sure you were once a rider who thought he was the shit in his shiny leathers and 4 inch strips. Everybody sucks when they first start out, that's just how it is. You think you're bad ass because you smoke novice riders all day? I'm sure there's somebody out there better than you who could say the same thing about your skill level.

  • @elmansa HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA "no counter steering whatsoever" Rightttt. Then they would be riding their bikes right off the cliff now wouldn't they. Douche.

  • @elmansa that isn't exactly something to brag about. So you can rider fast on the streets? who cares, show me what u can do on the track. this pace is nothing literally nothing to what is possible on the track,

  • Comment removed

  • u wana fuking change gears wow

  • yea lets go into a corner at 4000 rpm and hit the brakes to slow down hahah they are not using their brakes . its all motor control and you got to at high RPM .. nothing wrong with that thats what your suppost to do..

  • @crestwarrior1 ya but isnt that wearing down the enigine and make its life spand even less?

  • these guys keep the bike a year maybe 2 .. and these motors are made to rev high for long periods of time.. and of course if they are just cruising they wont be running them high like this.. remember these guys are at close to racetrack speed.. at about 85% .and on the track or in a race its all high rev. you dont buy a bike like this and worry how long the motor is going to last. its to use the power, and the power is at 10,000 rpm+!!

  • close to racetrack speed? that's ridiculous.

  • at wat point do you consider yourselfe a missle?

  • this is a very dangerous route. I did it many times in a car, once on my Gsxr 750 and twice at night on my 250 Ninja. one mistake you are dead because there are cliffs that have long drops. Many riders die on this route and I feel that many of the motorcycle riders put themselves and others at risk when they ride them this way.. but the video was cool, very consistant riding. to me, the risk is not worth it.. I wish there was a closed road just for bikers so they would not put others at risk

  • reminds me of my squid days! lol

  • how about shifting what? its not a track its a canyon.. duh

  • @joel76750, the speeds are typically between 15 to 20 mph on the low side to 90 to 110 mph on the high side so you try to stay in one gear, use the brakes, body....stay in your lane, ~8' wide paint to paint. If you shift up you immediately have to drop it...and so you get overtaken.

  • how about shifting a a gear or 2??

  • no braking is the key to speed in a canyon

  • sick shit!

  • the guy in front what bike is he riding and you both are good riders

  • gsxr 1000

  • thankx dude

  • Excellent riding, excellent road!!

  • Err that was the ZX7RR model.Solo seat

  • I used to ride there every Sunday in the Mid 90's on my 1991 zx7r.I made it from the Gas station at the off ramp to Newcombs in about 20 some odd Mins...That was Crazy>>:P

  • Looks pretty fast to me. Even though the front man's position on the bike could easily be much better.

  • its easy to criticize these two but unless you have ridden with them you will never understand their speed... Since I have ridden with them I can say that.. by the way newcombs is still there and ACH will open soon..these two are reallllllyyyyy fast....

  • nice

  • Kudos on memorizing all the turns! I have a hard time just keeping up on Palomar Mountain, and it's only about 8 minutes...

  • nice piece of riding.

  • Nice lines by the rider in front.

I heard Newcombs is gone due to the fire. Damn!

Cashed in my SoCal real estate chips and moved to Colorado in '04. Talk about some awesome and less traveled roads to ride. Is officer Bavetta still around? What a dick he is...

  • i dont know who you guys are but we been these guys have been up there 10 years and konw how to ride.... the guy in front is a bit slow than the guy in the rear so ofcourse hes going to be chopping at the throttle.. and they are not going at 90% so throttle control is not as important like they are going to overload the front end.. anyways .. see any brake lights???? its all motor no brakes.. and the people that say they were afraid to pass the van, its called respecting the "sunday drivers"

  • 3 steps? Damn! Yes, we'll take that under advisement. Thanks for the critique Mr. Rossi.

  • It was Mr. Keith Code, actually--rule #1 is "Once the throttle is cracked on, it is rolled on evenly, smoothly, and constantly throughout the remainder of the turn."

This twitchy on/off/on/off/on shit just makes him look like he's can't keep up with the other dude... I don't mean to sound like "Mr. Rossi" but he could go faster just by being more smooth.

  • Yeah, I hear ya. I just thought it was a little harsh.

  • There should be, ideally, 3 steps to steering the bike in a turn--turn in, apex, and roll on. Way too many mid-corner adjustments, both with steering and throttle. Bad body position too.

I'm sure both guys burn up the edges of their tires, but a better rider would be stuck behind them waiting for a spot to pass, taking better lines, using less revs, and with plenty of lean angle to spare.

Totally balls-out anti-smooth riding, and then you're afraid to pass that van? Seriously?

  • But the road is fantastic!

Too bad about the fires up there...

  • Just this past Friday, Aug. 7, there was an accident involving a motorcycle rider. They had him covered up with a sheet. Lost his life. Definitely NOT a safe road for riders. I drive this path from La Canada to Wrightwood almost every day and I don't know how many times one of the motorcycle guys/gals is on the wrong side of the double yellow. Slow it down, save a life.

  • @kidyubyub and how often is some dumbshit in a pickup truck on the wrong side of the double yellow, not disagreeing that riders do this, just that dumbshits in cars do it too....a car headon will hurts worse than a bike headon

  • @xmadcrackerx Agreed, but I have seen the opposite many more times.

  • I beg you guys to take your enthusiasm to Willow Springs. Slow down, especially on ACH and concentrate on smooth throttle control..smooth is fast.

  • @thicknecked your totally right about it..... but sometimes we just get into that groove hehehehe.. i never ride on the streets where i get the "OH SHIT moments".. =) ride at a good pace.=)

  • @thicknecked are u good at driving motorcycles cuz i need to learn how to lean and drift in one

  • I have been on plenty Spawn.

  • I had a friend who just crassed on this mountain the other day, because of their stupidity and amature acts, plus they're teens, I hope inexperienced drivers never go up these mountains

  • So many people end up over the edge and end up costing California taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars to get them rescued. Try enjoying your hobby somewhere that does not involve engendering people that are trying to get from point A to point B. Assholes.

  • Dude, until you've been on a bike you'll never understand.

  • they shut the road down from other traffic for this? or is this like the road rash video game :)

  • nice. have fun. b safe

  • lead guy's body is all crossed up...tell him to get his head and shoulders in line with his lower half.

  • seriously.

  • Very nice cornering~

  • so sick wowo

  • duddddeee!!

WHAT YOU GUYZ DOING THIS SUNDAY???

""HWY 2"" IF YOU CAN RIDE THIS ROAD FOR 2 SEASONS AND STILL STANDING

    YOU EARNED YOURE SKILLS

    GREAT VIDEO THNKS FOR SHARING

  • where were these dudes going? having an appointment with the cops a few miles ahead or what?

    Nice cornering though

  • great vid....looked like some great riding.

  • ooo yea i live right by here in tujunga, the canyon roads are pretty crazy

  • trying not to be an arse but your throttle control mid corner is a bit harsh.

on-off while leant over can be ok 99 out of 100 times, but it's asking quite alot on the front suspension and tyre.

  • Awesome riding, I took quite a few good videos myself up there riding my R6 check out my profile

  • For sure one of the best roads in the world.. but very unforgiving when you go down!!!

  • hey those anybody know why they blocked off the highway pass those two tunnels?

  • Land slide.

  • NeverRetreatNeverSurrender (dot) com

While in the face of any challenger ALWAYS remember...Never Retreat! Never Surrender!

  • easily the best sportbike road in california, if not the planet. seriously, if you havnt rode this, look to spend a solid day up there. Theres a twisty sign that says 55 miles. AWESOME

  • good solid riding guys. Ride fast & ive forever.

  • Great video guys. Looks like you made it from glendale to Palmdale in seven minutes LOL. You guys show what its really about.

  • Im looking to gather more racers to ride with my group at the crest. Im at the 76 gas station every Sunday at around 7:15AM. Hit me up if anyone wants to join us. I ride an R6 and the rest have liter bikes. 562-843-9333

  • I was there yesterday.I'll call when I move up from from an ex250 to a zx6r :D

  • I go every sunday. Sick ass place

  • I live there. La Canada. haha

  • where is hwy 2 at? t would love to ride that road

  • i can assure you that these guys have a lesser of a chance of hurting somebody than the average guy with no understanding of a motorcycle that just bought a 1000cc bike off the show room floor up there .. which IS the majority of guys that get killed and hurt others... these guys have been up there over 10 years ..

  • nice riding, be safe,

    ....and screw the haters.

  • screw the haters ,, you mean kill the haters by your recklace driving ...

  • hi jfyi they scrapped a guy off hwy 2 today around 1 pm ,killed on impact on his motorcycle .hit a truck .luckaly he didnt kill /harm others in truck . quess thats 7 fatalities this year alone from racing on hwy 2 with motorcycles .

  • inexperience!!!! speeding and inexperience is a little different.

  • what INexperience at what putting others lifes in danger ??

  • i went up last weekend and they brought down the chopper about 4 miles up from Newcombs Ranch. always gotta remember to ride within reason!!

  • steveo451....You couldnt come close to keeping these guys in sight for two corners...Let us know when you want to race for real...You can choose track and time....we'll be there

  • Careful with the axe Ugene...! Nice ride..

  • Nice road position and clutch control mate.

  • you might get better acceleration if you take it out of 2nd

  • if he was in a higher gear.. i think he is in 3 rd on the fast parts he'd always be needing to put on the brakes.. better to let the engine slow you down.. fyi there going about 80-100 mph

  • +1000 I almost killed myself coming into a turn at to high of a gear. Now I always keep the bike screaming.

  • Nice riding, stay safe.

  • kinda like to see those tires unstick a lil into the opposing traffic lane dont belong on the road

  • ┏━━━━━━━┓

    ┏┫ |||┣┓ ┏┓

    ┗┫━━ ┃ ━━┣┛ ┣┫ ┃ ━━━━━ ┃ ┏┳┫┣┳┓your momma can ride ┗━━━┳━━━┛ ┃ ┃this better than that squid in the front can ride a bike license revoked

  • if i was in the van i would nailed the brakes

  • suck ass riding the butt head in front was outside the whole time lousy ride

  • nice riding, fuck the haters

  • Very, very poor throttle work and even worse shifting. I like the video, but to call that racing is bizzare at best. I realize that you need to rev the piss out of your little 600 (I assume from the engine noise) but jesus, there is a shift lever for a reason! Maybe you would benefit from some easier runs than the crest before you embaress yourself in another video. Your friend, by the way, has some pretty fair form in and out of turns, but he needs to work on positioning on the road.

  • YOU SUCK JACKASS

  • "King of the Mountain" Hahahah

  • Very poor throtle work and shifting, was the bike stuck in 3rd gear or something?

I know for some this video might look like you were going fast but in reality you probably were holding on traffic behind you.. lol

    ~Joe

"King of the mountain '98-'01" (Retired)

  • da guy in front can ride!

  • i was on the crest today heading back to Acton and a rider went down and had to be airlifted out i dont usally like to ride crest any more claimed to many lives...im sorry about your friend f4tweet

  • My friend's front end washed out just past Mount Wilson and the bike flipped up into the air and landed on him. He and the bike slid off the road and down the hill about 100 feet. It took a half hour for Montrose search and rescue to land a helicopter on the crest and another twenty minutes to stabilize him and bring him up to the road. He died on the way to the hospital. We were doing 35-40 and he just got into the marbles and locked his front tire. One mistake. Go Speed Racers.

  • My condolences f4tweet.

  • That is really horrible throttle control. I'd slow it down a bit till you got smoother. Highsiding into a guardrail = wheelchair.

  • Nice job! I'm drooling at that road

  • ugly motocycles

  • s stans for stupid

  • you went to fast men wow that was stupid

  • I wouldn't call this racing or even fast, it is just putting down the road!

  • 65.9 mph @ the turn to Sunland at 6:46 even with the car, van and initial acceleration ~ nice

  • At 57 years old, I grew up on bikes that you could never heel over that far, and even today, still have edge (chicken) stripes on my Buell. This is an amazing show. You guys are truly genius level riders. Spring"s here in Maine and life is good, Thanks for the show, Keith

  • Shit... you guys are bad ass.. I like that road that you're on. Dude, you gotta tell us where that road is at.

  • that road is angeles crest hwy.send me a mess if u want more info. i ride it every weekend

  • this is for karrdick

that road is angeles crest hwy.send me a mess if u want more info. i ride it every weekend

  • Every weekend? I'm jealous. No cops out there? The guys here on the local forum says there's cops and heavy traffic on that road. Is that true? We're 4-5 hours up north Fresno. If we ever decide to come that way, we would have to truck our bikes. By the way, we'll be at Buttonwillow Race Way for track day on April 18, 2008. Look us up if you're in that neighborhood. Just come by and hang out. Most of us (20 some) will be riding B group and there's two or three guys in C group.

  • wtf im from fresno 2. i moved to lancaster in 97. yeah there are cops, but they are spread out thru the like 4 of the different ways thru the canyon. the particular road in this vid there isnt very many. wen there is will get a helmet tap and will b warned by ther riders. wat forum u at? im supposed to b at BW on friday 2, but my buddy with the the trailor has to reschedule for 5/9/08. so u guys r why group b was sold out so quick lol

  • I love this! The part just before Yamaha is back is goooood shit!

  • I really couldn't give a rat's bladder WHAT these other commenters say about shifting or being faster than you guys in this video. You guys are FAST! You guys hung it out and you guys posted. RRRREEEESSSPPPPEEECCCTTTT!!!!

  • is ja wie zu hause in der eifel....

  • When you lean like this, don't you afraid from broken pavement, gravel, oil spill?

You can find bike spare parts but no body spare parts.

  • a hit me up if u guys wanna link up sometime, me and a couple of my boys ride the crest every sunday... we have a couple vids too

  • gotta give it to both of you, you guys know that road like the back of your hand. I wish we had long sweeping twisties like that here in AL.

  • Nice, you guys were doing really well up there. Let me know this summer whenever you are going for a ride up there and I will join for sure. I have a camera and I believe that I'm as fast as the dude with the camera...kinda have to see I guess, looks like you guys are busting it up....YEAH!!

  • I don't care what other people say about the video either, this looks like fun! Just bought my first bike :) 2001 sv650s. Now have to wait for the damn snow to melt :P

  • good job i really like it dont care other people says bout yur vid realy good

  • aren't you able to change gear?

  • have you ever been on angeles grest on a motor cycle...!!!!!

  • obviously not! lol!

  • fucks sake throttle control and learn to shift.

  • I'll be a little more eloquent than rancid here but I have to agree with him. If you want to really blast through the twisties practice applying throttle smoothly through the apex of the turn while committing your entire body to establish your line for the next corner or straight and shift as necessary to keep the revs up in the middle of the powerband.

  • i'll kick you ass through the crest without shifting...!!!!

  • learn to spell first

  • dont wanna lose traction there lol...im going there tommorrow no bikes though ill see how my M car does....nice video man

  • I like the way you guys ride. Fast but safe. I noticed you stay in your lane nearly the whole time. Smart. Stay safe and have fun!

  • Amazing lines!!! wow, what a video! Thank you for a fantastic 7 mins, I owe ya one!
