Incorrect. They use million+ candlepower spotlights. The camera is on "nightshot" which produces the green effect. It's amazing and weird, but the spotlights never seem to be noticed by the animals.

They use infrared beams which causes it to look green, it is invisible to humans and most animals but gets picked up by special cameras

spotlights would terrify animals and they would run away.

I slept alone in a tent in the Serengeti and had those exact noises around the tents all night long, we had Hyena and Lions in the camp - I swear, I have never, ever felt terror like that in my life & hope I never do again.

I was with an ovcerlander tour, we were in a group of tents, I was alone in mine. We were unarmed. I kid you not, it was TERRIFYING. The night seemed to last 100hrs. I got caught outside my tent pissing at 5am (from fear)when lions roaring hugely just metres away (I thought they'd gone). I truyl did piss myself then. All night long I felt a kind of primordeal fear that I've never felt before, or since. Highly recommended. At daybreak, I never felt so alive my life.
