i think all the guys are sporting some really excellent style in this video - Kelly looks great in his green shirt and aqua scarf and Jeff's blouse is practically unbuttoned to his navel (thank you very much) to reveal a gold " L" necklace - L for Lynne! how cool is that ?! I'm just surprised that for being such a hairy rock beast/god on top that he doesn't appear to have a single hair on his chest.
Hmmph!(contemplative) Before this video, I always thought Lynne 'yelled', "But, I-iiii !" FIRST. But it apearently it was alway Kelly. Whoda thunk it?!
Did anyone notice that Jeff is experimenting with what looks like a mouthful of chaw. Never seen that before in any other videos. He definitely looks more bad-a** than usual. LOL, love it.
This kinda annoys me, I would happily believe that Roy Wood left ELO because it was just becoming the Jeff Lynne show, Jeff's output after that, no matter how successful, is pretty samey, listen to his wilbury and paul mcartney work for proof, he's a talented one trick pony. Roy's continued input could've helped him develop, together they were stronger, hence they both lost their way circa 1985.
@lechaise One trick pony, my a**! Lynne was the brains behind ELO. It would've been interesting to see what would've come of a continuing colaboration of Lynne and Wood. Maybe, another Lennon/McCartney. On the second thought, who would want seconds of that. ELO was superior to the Beatles. The only reason they weren't bigger was because the Beatles came first and after that bands like ELO were considered ripoffs. Sad really.
@donn409 Interesting thought, what that band might have been had Roy stuck around. I have read numerous interviews from JL pointing out that by the time Roy left in mid-72, a number of tracks for ELO II had been started, and the two of them were at each other's throats, and Roy volunteered to leave since he was better known in England as himself at the time; they wished to preserve their friendship.
This guy is amazing i love him, when he was withe the wizards(60s), The Move (late 60s early 70s), ELO(70s), and when he made When We Was Fab with George Harison in 1987!, The Dude has a colorful history!!!!
This probably one of the most underrated bands of all time, but only thank but Lynne is an extremely underrated singer, songwriter and performer. ELO FOR THE ROCK HALL OF FAME!
this is one of the ONLY songs where i liked the original better than the cover... cus i usually like a more modern heavy rock sound to older songs (when covered). guess Ace Frehley couldnt deliver that to me lol if ANYBODY... i would have liked Aeosmith to cover it instead of Ace. Ace's still rocked tho... just not as good as ELO!
I love the 70s and 80s music. My son who is 20 loves it as well. As he tells people: My Dad played all of this stuff as I was growing up and I loved it!
Lynn just wanted to release his new ELO band comeback in dvd but we fans of the one and only ELO of the seventies demand Jeff listen to us. we know you have the entire promo clips of the albums "a new world record" where this song comes from and also the double "OUT OF THE BLUE" .so please Jeff listen to us!
