  • I think you could argue that Dowland had at least one foot in baroque music, he's closer to baroque than a lot of other renaissance composers even of his time, and its not like it was a complete musical break more of a transition.

  • I absolutely love baroque music, I could listen all day. Why do you use a capo? Is it for the sound or the feel?

  • @msutton2006 This is not Baroque music. :-)

  • @Montyleeny14 Hey I'm just saying I love baroque music. This is pretty nice too!

  • This interpretation deserves tears of blood. Absolutely beautiful!!

  • A firm, intricate and surprising performance. Very good! Why anybody would stoop to complaining about clothing, I fail to comprehend.

  • bravo ma almeno i pantaloni lunghi.....

  • Well I find the t-shirt and tennis shoes ironic. It shows great humility paired with the music.

  • Fashion has changed, accept it. Its not the old 1550s anymore where we have posh suits and wigs.

Remember this is 21st century, and maybe Winston must've never expected to be recorded playing his guitar.

  • I think you misunderstood my comment. I was saying something positive. I thought humility was universally considered a 'good' thing?!

  • in the 1550s they didn't wear wigs.

this guy fully roxx! i'm molto impress :)

  • Jitpring: What a sad person you are; a glance at your site says it all.

  • Are you people serious? This is a beautiful performance. Who cares what he is wearing.

  • Whether impromptu or otherwise, practice or performance, considering just the fact that he is in a chapel I would indeed expect more appropriate dress.

  • What exactly would you people have him wearing? A tuxedo? Period clothing? There's something far more important than his outfit going on in this video.

  • This happens to be an impromptu video recording of Winston who was practicing in this beautiful chapel where we live on a warm summers evening. A friend of ours just realized the beauty of the moment and decided to record it on his video. Of course this was not a performance! You are able to glimpse into the unrehersed, unplanned for moment in a serious classical guitarist's solitary enjoyment of the music and his instrument. It is pure grace that you are viewing this. Carol Arblaster

  • How unfortunate that this player's upbringing was so poor that he'd appear in a setting like this, with music like this, knowing he's going to be recorded, wearing tennis shoes, shorts, and a short-sleeved shirt. Incredible. And of course by saying this, I now open myself to charges of snobbery and all the rest of it. Such is the Brave New World, its dictatorship of relativism, and the militant mediocrity of its egalitarianism. Yet decency demands that all of this be said.

  • Oh how silly you are.

  • Please. Decency is a facade. If you're more concerned with fashion than music you really don't deserve this aire of sophistication you've afforded yourself.

  • PERHAPS it was just a hot day. Leave him alone! It's gorgeous.

  • it is played very well , with feeling! even that this song is to be played with Lute...

  • great playing and background but the clothes that you wear mock the music, they don't fit... appearance does matter...

  • That was perfect! I enjoyed listening thank you!

  • very beautiful

  • You played that quite well, thanks for posting it :)

  • Beautifully played - a great pleasure to listen to.
