  • nascar needs to have one more race in japan

  • damn i didn't know brendan gaughan was so old! i thought he was like 25.

  • Haha, I forget who drove the 16 before Biffle.

  • @HarvestmanMan

That was a DEI prepared car .......Also DW was subbing for Dale Jarrett (88 Car) this race,Dale had some food sickness or something.

  • @ShaneLarocque Jarrett had gallbladder surgery a week or two before this race. At Phoenix a few weeks before, he had to get out during the race and hand the car over to Michael Waltrip due to what he thought was the flu (it turned out to be gallstones, hence the surgery.) His doctor didn't approve of him racing so soon after the surgery, so he asked DW to fill in for him.

  • the camera crews were so jetlagged they didnt notice the crash or film it

  • Hes running circles around stepen wallace this year. I hope steve starts having some more luck

  • I had no idea Brendan Gaughan was in this race! First time I remember hearing of him was in 2002 when he came in the truck series.

  • I think he was invited becuase of being a NASCAR champion in one of the local races. I think.

  • @TheCougarFrom1983 i remember him in the 77 kodak car in 04

  • @TheCougarFrom1983

He was rookie of the year for the Craftsman Trucks.

  • Too bad NASCAR does not go to Japan anymore. Was always fun to see something different like this be done

  • lol the girl at the end looks pissed, then she smiles and waves, lol

  • i heard hamilton never helped his son with his career

  • i beleve that he was a jerk

  • If you are talking about Hamilton Jr. getting his dad's team, from what I heard, the financial backers of the team did not want him running the team, thinking that he would not be the appropriate person to run the team.

If you are talking about something else, then that is new to me.

  • why the hell did she just wave to me, i dont even know her !!

  • the japanese response crew is funny to watch

  • This was when Nascar would hold an Exibition race in Japan at the end of the season. In 1997, they held a race at the Suzuka Circuit. In 98, they raced in Motegi

  • 1996 as well at Suzuka

It would be nice to see NASCAR do something like this again, but with the way the schedules are, and with the costs of those trips, I understand why they don't do these anymore

  • This is soooooooo cool! I got my picture taken with Gaughan and he is the nicest man on the face of the earth.

  • hey back then how did they brought the cars from the U.S. to Montegi Japan?

  • Similar to what they do with IndyCar. They loaded up all the equiptment on cargo planes.

  • gaughans car is gaughan! XD

  • i noticed that too XD

  • jajaja it's the best " gaughans #16 is gaughan! " X^D

  • so is his fuel cell!

  • lol.

also I like devon setoguchi too But not really san jose just seto lol.

  • WTF??!? NASCAR in japan??!?! when was this?!?! i never knew they raced in japan.

  • It was back in the late 1990s when NASCAR was becoming popular not only out west but outside of the U.S. It was a non-points type race in an effort to expand the fan base.

  • 1998

  • Wow!! That was a serious accident! It's interesting to see Brendan Gaughan before he actually ran a points Cup race there in Motegi.

  • Yeah, I had no idea he ran back in 98

  • olollolololo brendan "Gaughan" car is "GONE" lololololololool
