Great video, not too shaky. As a first time DR rider, I had an awesome time. The temps were just perfect. Hard but worth it. Thanks for posting this video. Monitor Pass is gorgeous.
fantastic video. the music with the varying light conditions (over and under exposure) made this a fairly surreal video. my fastest for the day was on the opposite side of monitor but this side is my favorite for it's beauty and long sweeping descents.
I don't see any obvious unnecessary risks, and I like the under exposure into the sun. It captures the feeling I had on that decent as well. After the cold dark start and climbing in the twilight and shade, it was awesome to have full 7am sunlight bathing the whole east side on this world-class descent! Good job. I can't believe this is just an ipod nano. I'm thinking of bringing my HD helmet cam next year. 2x speed is just right.
@sugarbowlvideo: Sure, I will when I get a chance, though it's a bit long and the audio is pretty bad (my ipod nano rattles around it's mount quite a bit, I'm working on it)
A lot of passing on the left of the double-yellow with oncoming riders. Were you the nut-job who went by everyone without calling "on your left" and taking all kinds of necessary risks? Video is horribly underexposed in much of it.
@scotttaggart: I only passed when it was safe to do so (i.e. no oncoming or if there was a lot of room). As for calling out, I always did unless there was a ton of room between me and the rider I was passing. And yea, sorry about the underexposure...but it's hard to get any better when the camera is facing directly into the sun...some of the other ones turned out better, but I posted this first since it was my favorite descent :)
cool descent Video. I really like the under exposed bits. I think it did add to the mood. Pretty stable video for a homemade mount and Ipod.

Awesome! That was the most amazing descent I've ever made - at least until I dropped down from Ebbetts back toward Markleeville a few hours later.
I'd love to know how you filmed the scene, your camera and how you mounted it.

@davewyman: thanks! Actually, I used a 5th gen ipod nano with a custom built mount I made to mount it to my handlebar.
I've got both Ebbetts descents on camera as well, I'll post them soon!
