Tim Roth played D'artagnan in the Man in the Iron Mask. Therefore Tim Roth is fighting himself in the future form the past in another dimension. that sounda about right...
@rjbonacolta The fight choreography was based on a combination of fencing and kung-fu. They employed a little refined stabbing, and a lot of showy slashing.
@rjbonacolta The point of a sword is to kill your opponent with the sharp end, not play around with it by attacking their weapon.
But of course, as you well know Hollywood has a tendency to embellish certain details for the sake of drama. I mean, a real sword duel lasts under a minute, but that's not very good for action movies - and besides, actors don't really want to hurt each other.
In the past did swordfight duels last this long?
What is the difference between real swordfight vs hollywood swordfights?

What an undignified death. And how nice of Tim Roth to jump on the ladder at 1:34, just in time to avoid letting his rival fall and break his back!

@PublicICON The choreographer was Xin Xin Xiong who was Jet Li's stunt double for Once Upon A Time in China. This is a homage to that fight scene.
