I remember watching all the 90's Spiderman episodes on TV when I was a kid. This is the first time I've seen SSM, and I have to say, I'm impressed. The animation here is a bit sketchy, but the action is solid, and SM doesn't mention his spider sense in every other sentence. 5/5

Writing and acting for this version are all better than the 90s show.

@Sparkifi Which "better movies" are we talking about here? Yeah, the last two Batman flicks were good, but at best as good as Spidey 1 and 2 or X-Men 1 and 2. Supes 2006 and Lantern were pretty ho-hum, outclassed by Iron Man 1 and 2. You go back further and Blade 1 and 2 were at least as good as Batman '89 or the couple of good Reeves Superman's. And Marvel has better depth, with Hulk 2, XMO: Wolverine, and the half-decent Daredevil and Ghost Rider flicks coming off the bench.

I disagree on TV shows, too, btw. The Hulk, F4, and Iron Man toons were OK but cheesy. X-Men TAS and Evolution and Spidey 90's and Spectacular were pretty good, but none as good as Bats and Supes's 90's shows. Batman Beyond and LOSH were good, and then came JL/JLU, the best comics toon ever. I might rank the new Avengers #2, though. It's good stuff.

Only in-universe can the word "overpowered" actually be considered, for instance, yes, Superman might be considered overpowered in his Pre-Crisis era/powerset because he literally had perfect versions of every good power. Yes, the it is more fluid, yes the fight are more dynamic than past cartoons from the 80s and 90s. But it has nothing to do with the artstyle.

You made the connection because you tried to find a reason why the artstyle is subpar. I have found plenty of recent marvel production that didn't have bad artstyle. We all grew up with a muscular Spider-Man, and now I see some anorexia patient... It's clearly targeted at a younger audience.

But I don;t think they changed the artstyle to be able to achieve more fluid animations etc.
