Beautifully done Jamilla! When I first saw your veil dance I said she is so spiritual. Excited to see the celebration in the spinning of all the performers. Spnning across cultures always has a spiritual and divine origin so matter what tradition. So it is beautiful to see the combination...many forget that this dance veils or not is a spiritual one as well! Keep spinning..
how do you get yourself to spin so fast and so long..i always get sick and ive tried the technique she mentioned in her instructional video... grrr i love it and i want to be able to do this..any tips?
Follow her tips that she gave on spotting- but go as slow as you need to to keep a good rhythm while spotting. Then speed it up as you get comfortable. Once you get the feel for how you need to move your head it will get much easier :-)
ya the whipping of the head in spotting is difficult but people you say if you build the number of spins you do everyday you will become more immune to the dizziness like today do 3 tomorrow do 4 spins in a row etc.

oh gosh! give me a break! it's a clip! and although taping is not allowed at every concert everyone does it and no1 makes a big deal over it except the bdss! even the most famous people don't make a big deal if you illegally tape their concerts and put it on youtube! goodness gracious!

The veils is the only dance she even comes close to mastering, the others are sloppily done, waay too exaggerated. Of the BDSS dancers she's my least favorite. Oh and I agree with the previous poster about the Sufi dancers..
Petite Jamilla you are a wonderful dancer!! It is a pity that you or your choreographer made such a mistake by involving The Tanuras (the colourful skirts) which the dancers wore behind you in your cabaret style. They are representing dervish and Sufi tradition in Egypt, so it is better not to mix religious Dance with cabaret one. It is a matter of respect even if the show must go on!!!

Se ve lindo y no es facil, obvio que la tela de los velos tiene que ser ligera por eso se le llaman velos, no querras que use cobijas verdad? se requiere fuerza, equilibrio y coordinacion, y gracia que no cualquiera la tiene, Jamila es super profesional y sobre todo excelente persona no sabes lo que dices, mejor callate me aburres.
